Works great, here are a few tips
This kit provides parts for fixing several models of Mansfield/Prier hydrant. The parts are relatively easy to install, but finding the right parts to use from the package, as well as the orientation of the basket washer for my 500 series, proved to be less than intuitive. My first mistake was removing the entire hydrant from out of the wall (my initial thought was that I would have to get a new one). THEN I found this kit, which can be installed without removing the hydrant (ha-ha). The parts diagram on the back of the package is pretty much useless. I went to the Prier website and found a PDF of the assembly that helped a bit. I finally noticed that on the bottom of the parts diagram on the package is a general reference to YouTube. I went there and searched for "Prier" and quickly found a video that covered my 500 series hydrant. Wish I had looked there first. As others have noted, this kit does not have any repair parts for the vacuum assembly -- there is a separate kit for that (630-7500 for the 400 and 500 series), as well as another YouTube video. Overall, things will go a lot easier for you if you watch the YouTube videos first. Good luck!

Make your old spigot work like new
I bought this for an external hose bib at my hunting cabin. I have no idea how old the original was, but it was very hard and no longer would seal without dripping. I installed the new seal on the end of the rod and replaced the collar bushing. It works like a charm now, and requires only minimal force to make a leak free seal. When installing the new bushing, just be careful not to chip or damage it when inserting. The new bushing also stops the squeaking. This is an easy fix to an annoying problem. I recommend it.

Worked perfectly. But you need you tube!
UPDATE May 2020- last year I replaced this and was delighted. Just turned water back on for the season and leaking again!!! This should not be a repair that needs to be done every year! Now very disappointed - back to you tube to see if the rod itself could be part of the problem. This worked perfectly, and I only looked at this option after realizing that replacing the entire frost free assembly couldn’t be done due to lack of access from the basement. This kit has everything you need plus more, which is a bit of an issue. There are a lot of extra parts so determining which washers and seals to use was more difficult than it should have been since you tube video did not show up close parts view. YOU MUST DETERMINE 100% the make and model you are replacing to make sure this is the kit for you, ( mine was a Mansfield 300 ). Once you do however this has everything you need to fix the leaking spigot (unless your handle needs to be replaced too - that you will have to order separately.) Great fix and low price!

Cheap and easy fix for anyone with pliers and a screwdriver...
My outside hose bib (spigot) would dribble out of the on/off handle, so I couldn't leave it on for any period of time. A little research to figure out what my spigot was (old style Mansfield 500 w/ left handed threads) led me to this kit. All I did was look up the stem parts breakdown and replaced all of the washers and parts I could. Re-assemble, and turn my water back on, voila! No dripping at all. Included several parts I didn't need (if you can consider that a knock). I know the kit covers a couple of other stem types, but it did add a little confusion as to what parts to use.

much better than soldering in a new faucet
The kit does all 300 400 500 600 Mansfield (now Prier) faucet stem washers and packing. It has packing materials for both the left hand and right hand packing types. For me this is a 300 series (RH) and a 500 series (LH). Though I needed the kit for a second faucet it would have been better if I had removed the stems for inspection before I ordered the kit. In my case one of the washer retaining screws in the end of the model 300 stem had rotted out so badly I could not get the remnants out of the stem and had to order a new stem which comes with washers and packing. The other thing I learned is that the vacuum break can also leak. Those parts are not in this kit. So if you have a vacuum break check if it leaks before ordering parts. There is a kit that includes the vacuum break components as well as the stem washers and packing. Fortunately there is also a kit that only contains the vacuum break components so I didn't lose much by not ordering everything at once. Mansfieldparts has a great short video on how to tell the different models apart and shows you the relevant part numbers for each unit. If I had a leak in a faucet with the vacuum break I would just buy the all inclusive kit and change all the washers and packing at the same time. It is quick and easy. Overall I like the quality of the kit. Jay

Stopped the drip
Our 400 Series Anti-Siphon Wall Hydrant was dripping from the outlet. I looked at several of the on-line Prier videos before starting the repair. When I removed the stem, the rubber boot was torn up and loose on the stem. It took me a while to figure out that the rubber boot was the anti-siphon part of the assembly and that it had to be stretched over a raised lip just below the threaded end of the stem. Once I did that, completing the repair was easy. No drips! This repair kit had all the parts necessary to stop the leak.

Not universal
I recognize that it's not sold as a universal kit, but I bought it hoping there might be comonality of parts enough that I could use it for another brand. It doesn't have any of the parts needed to fix my wall hydrant. Be sure you have a Prier faucet and don't think you'll be able to get this to work for all the others. I realize this is as much my fault as anything else, so I didn't take off a bunch of stars for it - more a warning for anyone else. The parts seem to be well enough made, but not great. The seals are thin, the threads sharp - overall, the quality is probably good enough to get your Prier faucet fixed, but isn't going to be the end-all solution.

Bought one of these kits to fix a dripping outside tap on a 30 year old house. Due to it being a frost free tap, I was told the plumber would have to remove the tap from both the inside and outside of the house and replace all the fittings. Inside the house, the fittings are in a very awkward place in our family room and a wall would need to be cut to gain access. They haven't made the model tap I have in years. After watching some videos, we were able to replace it. It was quite easy and straight forward. The toughest part was just to get the plastic handle off. After that everything was a breeze. No drips or leaks and we saved hundreds of dollars.

I have a Prier Outdoor Hose Bib on my cabin at the lake and every couple of years it will drip or develop a leak from the sediment in the well water or perhaps the freeze thaw cycle over the winter time. It's very frustrating because I've never serviced by hose bib (different brand) on my home in the city that's 25 years old. For whatever reason I find myself servicing the Prier Hose Bib at the lake every couple of years. This kit has everything you need to repair a leaky Prier Wall Hydrant (hose bib). The repair is fairly easy and there is even a video on the web on how to repair your Prier Outdoor Wall Hydrant. I'm disappointed that my hose bib at the lake leaks every couple of years but grateful that this kit fixes the problem each time. I've repaired my Prier Hose Bib three times in 10 years with this kit. The only complaint I have about this kit is the price ... I don't know why this kit is so expensive. The last time I ordered I paid $32.56. In total I've paid almost $100 now on 3 kits over 10 years to keep my Prier Wall Hydrant from leaking. I like the look of the Prier Wall Hydrant however If I knew about the frequent leaking problem and costly service kit, I would have installed a different brand of hose bib. Yes this kit will stop your leaking Prier Wall Hydrant however the price should be no more than $20, especially since it only seems to last a couple years. I knocked 1 star off due to the outrageous price.
