In order to read with my macular degeneration I need a bright light, high magnification, and light weight magnifying glass. So far I have purchased four different magnifying glasses. This one has the brightest light and is the lightest weight. The shape of this glass is good for reading.. I like not having to buy batteries and the time to recharge is pretty quick. I have two downsides. The button to turn the light on is positioned on the handle so I am always turning it on or off. Also, the acrylic lense is very easily scratched. This has become my most used glass for now. If they offered a 10X I would get it. The lense issue of scratching is solved by just being aware and being careful.

I have bought several Magnipros for myself and as gifts. I prefer the rechargeable 6x handheld magnifier for convenience. I had a problem with the recharger plug not staying in the magnifier so that it could recharge, but I think they have probably fixed that now. You will be happy with Magnipros, no matter which one you buy.

I love this magnifier. I have three. They are the clearest and easiest to read of any I’ve ever used. The battery lasts. A reasonable amount of time is lightweight and it works great.

I bought this for my husband so he could read his bible easily. He likes the easy grip handle & multiple light settings also the magnifier is very clear all around- no blurred view. Win win!

Great for us folks who are slowly losing their 20/20 vision due to age and yes it happens even with the best of care and laser surgery , glasses and eye vitamins. I use them at restaurants and reading . Great product and so easy to use.

Light stopped working Shame

My Mum is 90 and the optician recommended a handheld reader to help with magazines and books. The brand recommended was over £60 but this seemed to offer the same functionality and get good reviews. I can confirm it is very good and does the job well. The lights are particularly good in dim conditions and the magnification is useful. A lower-cost alternative to the expensive (German?) brand that works just as well.
