LittleHippo Mella Ready to Rise Children's Trainer, Alarm Clock, Night Light and Sleep Sounds Machine (Blush Pink)…

We love Mella! This is such a well designed and well made product. It's simple to set up, and easy for young children to understand. We have found it to be a really effective tool for sleep training all 3 of our children. The company customer service is excellent. I had a question and they resolved my issue within a few days with just a couple of emails. It was nice to speak to a real person and get a friendly and sensible response. Well done LittleHippo - keep up the good work!

Mella is fantastic, my daughter loves it, it does what it needs too brilliantly. There are a few things to improve upon in my opinion, such as using the top button to restart night light and music, would be brilliant. What it does well; in short, everything it needs too. The music settings while limited do the job. The night light is great. Changing functions is easy to do and get set up. The best part though is the sleep timer and mellas ‘face’ the colours to help know when to get up are great as is also assisting to help read the time. The face its self provides a fun interaction for my daughter. Over all fantastic product that could (with a few tweaks) easily become the best of its kind on the market. Got this for my 4yr old to mainly help with staying in bed / bedroom after waking early in the mornings. Setup is easy enough, takes a small amount of time to go through the various settings to set your desired settings. Not currently using the alarm option, just the wake-up light. Using the sounds and nightlight at bedtime. Very cute looking with the digital face, great excitement when the eyes blink after another minute has passed on the clock. My daughter loves the night light colour options and the wave sound. 3 brightness levels on the nightlight are good as depending on colour choosen it can be quite bright. The speaker sound could be better quality, is a bit tinny. Would be great if the Red nightlight came on automatically with the sleep time setting as another visual que for children to know it's bedtime. Would also be great to have weekday and weekend setting option. Would also be great to have the option to add personal custom sleep and alarm sounds by recording directly to the device. Overall very happy with the clock and its features. Feels quite solid and well made, nice design, good clear simple graphics on face. It is keeping my daughter in her bed/room as desired in the mornings. Will be able to use it as a full clock / alarm clock as she gets older and learns to tell the time. Would benefit from a longer power cable.

I ummed and ahed for ages over getting this and wish I’d done it sooner. We’ve used it for a while now. The main reason we needed it for was the wake up function, as we don’t use a night light (though it’s nice to have that option for when he’s older and reading in bed). I found it easy to set using the instructions. You can set the wake up light without using the night light, unlike the Gro Clock, which was useless for us. We haven’t bothered using the yellow light for playtime before getting out of bed, though this is a handy function if you have a super early riser. Luckily, our 3 year old took to it straight away and waits patiently for the green light to be on before clambering out of bed. Hopefully this will continue! If you’re lucky enough to still have a napper, you can use the same function for naps (though I’d prefer being able to select 15 minute intervals, rather than half an hour). You can lock the controls at the bottom, so little fingers don’t change the settings. I’ve unplugged this to take to other people’s houses and it remembers the settings no problem. The screen is fine at the dimmest level and the night light brightness can be adjusted too. The lowest level seems to be a nice glow (especially on the red light setting). My little fella loves that it blinks when a minute ticks round, and likes to check it has gone to sleep when he goes to bed. You don’t have to use all of the functions. This was what I worried about before purchasing. We haven’t used the sounds, as he has an echo that plays music in his room. The alarm will be good for when he’s older, but we haven’t used it yet. All in all, I’m glad I took the leap and purchased this. It works well for us (so far!).

Great selection of functions. You can set the time, three sound options for an alarm, colours for wake up time and an interim colour for nearly wake up time, you can set a night light colour for bed time. There is also a nap time function and a sound function that I think has white noise or a melody. Seems to be everything you need in a kids first alarm clock, would recommend. I have two, one for my 3 year old and one for my 4 year old. Easy for them to turn off the alarm, they just push down on the top of the alarm clock for 2 seconds

Overall, this is a good product - well enough designed, aesthetically pleasant, and fairly easy to set up and use. The only problem that we encountered is that my daughter didn't like the face! We solved this by putting a strip of black electrical tape over it. However, the colour system was great and helps her to understand when it's appropriate to stay in bed and when not. That said, this could have been such a better product. Some suggestions for future development, based on our usage so far: * Menu option to disable the face! * Ideally, be able to swap the face with a larger clock, and use the mini-clock for something else. This would also let you use it as a 'normal' clock in the future, when the kids are older. * Auto-nightlight timer, instead of having to manually switch it on. We use red for the nightlight, so it's "red" for staying in bed, "yellow" for not long now, and "green" for ok to get up. * Customise yellow time and duration from its default 30min setting * Ability for end-user to update firmware with future features, possibly by adding a USB OTG port

Le design est plutôt sympa mais déçu car je n’avais pas vu que le réveil devait être branché sur secteur en Permanence. Il garde juste les réglages en mémoire si on le débranche mais s’éteint immédiatement. Autre fonction qui pour moi était importante je pensais qu’il s’allumait en jaune ou une couleur spécifique lors de l’heure du coucher. En fait non c’est uniquement avant le réveil. Il ferme juste les yeux au moment du coucher …. La musique pour endormir numéro 3 est juste impossible à écouter tellement la qualité de la musique est nulle. Du coup cette fonction ne servira pas non plus .

Super réveil pour aider l'enfant a distinguer le jour et la nuit. Les réglages ne sont pas très simple et le moniteur est en anglais.
