it is a well built and durable cable. went through a many bends and twists going through two walls (with fire breaks) to get to the receiver from the TV. lots of construction dust as well. works perfectly, no noticeable degradation of sound quality.

My original review stated that the end pieces were too large to permit the optical plug to 'seat' itself within one of my audio devices. However, I took another look at the end of this cable and now I must update my review. The black outer body of the optical end is threaded; which permits it to 'travel' closer to the device being connected and also to recess - which permits the end itself to adjust to the 'depth' the actual end can reach into the receiving optical port. I'm not sure if this is standard or characteristic of this cable; but ultimately the cable works. Combining the overall quality and low price for a 10' optical cable, I am satisfied with the purchase and would purchase it again. If you purchase this item, remember that you can adjust the 'penetrating' portion of the connector tip by turning the black grip end in the desired direction.

Solid build. Connects with a solid click and a secure connection. Signal is clean and without any artifacts. Braided surrounding with good shielding. These are forever cables. They look and feel good, have a stable signal, connect well and shouldn’t need replacing in normal use. Definitely recommend.

I’ve bought FosPower cables previously, and I’ve never had an issue with the quality of their products. Looks like this one is another quality item so far. Good price point and good build quality.

[UPDATE ON 1/22/2017: I encountered problems using the SIIG audio card in its optical pass-through mode, and ended up purchasing a "ViewHD SPDIF | TOSLINK Digital Optical Audio Switcher 3x1 with Remote | Three Inputs to One Output | Model: VHD-TS3X1" on Amazon. It has performed flawlessly and I have posted a separate review for it. Thx!] These superior cables helped solve an unusual problem for me. I have a computer from which I wanted to stream optical audio out, and I also have a Blu-ray player with optical audio out... and I needed both to go into an Audioengine D1's single optical audio input. As well, I needed the optical audio to stream from either source without me having to switch it manually. But, how? Long story short, I got an SIIG audio card on Amazon that had an optical input for an external device - perfect for my Blu-ray player - and still handled on-board audio duties as well, sending either my host computer's audio or the Blu-ray player's audio down one 25-foot FosPower optical cable into the single optical input of the Audioengine D1. I purchased a 6-foot optical cable to go from the Blu-ray player to the SIIG card on my computer. I had been using USB for my audio for movies and music, but now I have a dedicated optical solution from two sources! Very Nice!! So, what about the cables? Well, first of all they came in very nice packaging, and were spectacular to behold. They are like works of industrial strength art. They feel indestructible, and are crafted with very exact tolerances. I especially like that they relax and lay wherever you want them. I have a 3-foot Monster Cable optical cable which is well-made but does not even come close to how well the FosPower cables have been manufactured. Well done, FosPower!

I didnt think cables could make such a difference; man was I wrong. I run some pretty high end audio gear had a couple of components connected to my amp through stand alone D/A converter and toslink to by pass the the built in D/A converters in each of the components. I was using Monster Cable toslink cables and figured that light transmission is light transmission and that there couldnt be any difference between cable but over the last few months the sound began degrading considerably until the signal that was coming out of my amp became un-listenable. Anyway It became clear that I needed now cables so I gave these a try and all i can say is WOW - what a difference. When I compare these to the previous sound, pre degradation, the bass is deeper, trebles crisper and music is over all far more bright. Now I know, that music reviews are very subjective but my wife, who is by no means an audiophile, came home and asked "what have you done to the stereo?" The sound improvement is that dramatic. From a quality perspective these cables have a very solid feel and its clear the braiding will protect them from kinking. It also seems that the black braided cable shell will prevent these cables from breaking down over time. Of course I cant know this for sure, only time will tell but so far I am thoroughly impressed and they we a steal of a price. I high recommend these SPDIF Toslink cables.
