4-Inch Harbinger Padded Leather Contoured Weightlifting Belt

I have known lifters to get passionate about their belts and the style. For me, I have tried a few over 2 decades and this is the to which one I keep coming back. I am not a bodybuilder or powerlifter but I do lift to stay fit & I have always preferred a thick 6" belt over other styles and this one has worked well for me. They last a long time (until I forgot it at the gym which seems to happen every 2-3 years & then I need to replace it) and support my back well while providing good intra-abdominal pressure. To be sure, this is not everyone's cup of tea but you just might like this.

High quality weight belt, from an established manufacturer, at a great price! I bought this for my son, because we work out together, and he needs the back support (doesn’t everyone?). He’s very happy, with the comfort and back support. The existing belts I had, were either too big, or too small, for either of us. I ordered a worker back support from Home Depot, in a smaller size, and it works fine for me, so I was happy to give my son the better quality piece for weight training. He’s still growing, so I don’t want him to overdo it, or injure himself. Safety first!

Owing to some of the negative reviews, complete with worrying pictures, I was rather anxious as I ordered this item. However, after using it for a few weeks now I can give it my highest recommendation. The strap of the belt is very stiff and I think it could be very easy to crease or break the belt if used too roughly when it first arrives. So do not be rough in bending the belt in ways that it does not want to go. I ordered a size where I am using the middle holes for the two prongs of the belt. I could not, at first, get the end tip of the belt through the loop because the belt was so stiff. But after leaving the belt curled up for a few days it was then possible to get the end tip through the loop. I feel very comfortable in using this weight belt now. I would much rather have a belt of this stiffness that takes a few days to become more pliant than a belt that is not as stiff, and would probably be weaker. A strong and comfortable belt and I am more than happy about this purchase.

Excellent belt that does what it is supposed to do. I purchased this belt as a powerlifter who felt that a 6 inch belt was making my lifts a little easier than they should be therefore my core strength and stability was lacking. This belt does a great job of supporting your back while not taking away from any of your lifts. KEEP IN MIND: The sizing chart is fairly off. I have a 33 in waist so I bought a large as was suggested. In hindsight, a medium probbaly would have been better because I am on almost the last loop of the large belt now. And don't think about ordering larger than you think and making it fit as the belt get softer... I have had mine about 3 months now and it is still almost as stiff as when I bought it!

I really love this belt. I was never into the whole weight lifting belt until I had a new PR and someone recommended me to get one to prevent any back injuries. It's a really good fit. It needed some getting used to and it took me a good 2 lifting sessions to break it in. Now every time I go really heavy, I use this belt and it becomes second nature for me. I do have this in my gym bag at all time. The quality of this product is really good. I have had this product for a while now and its still holding strong. I would recommend this to anyone looking to buy their first lifting belt because it is worth every money.

Product is excellent as its durable, comfortable and fits properly. This 4 inch width lifting belt fits better than the Harbinger 6 inch wide belt and does not ride up too high on your back as the 6 inch can. The 4 inch width allows you to be supported but not overly supported and thus avoids making your back to rigid to lift. One important note for determining your size S, M, or L belt. The online Amazon sizing guide which displays your waist size as it relates to the belt size is completely incorrect. Ignore the inaccurate waist to belt size guide they offer and instead measure the circumference of your mid section just below your belly buttom. Go to the Harbinger site to see a better belt sizing guide, although still not accurate enough. Your mid section measurement will help you pick the right size belt. I also went to a sporting goods store to try a Harbinger medium and a large leather notched belt. I am a 31 inch waist, 165lbs, and the medium is too small with only two notches left on the belt to spare. The large fit proportionally better around my waist and more evenly supported my back (whereas the medium was not evenly proportioned or supportive). The large had a bit more extra left over notches to grow into (about 7 left over) but the belt fit much better (even though the online guide said I should be a medium) Amazon processing, and shipping service was rapid and excellent as always.

After using this liftng belt, I feel obliged to write a review. I have been trying to get in shape for quite a while (few years) and recently been more disciplined about my diet and workout. Unluckily, I had a major backpain issue 7 years ago and though it healed its remnant still manifest as minor pain in my hamstrings. This hamstring pain used to be troublesome if I worked out using heavy weights. I got this belt to wear during the weight lifting sessions. I noticed that wearing this belt has drastically reduced the strain I feel on my hamstrings after the workout sessions. It is made of really sturdy leather and is very comfortable to wear. It fits nicely and is quite adjustable.

The belt in all is well made. However, on my first time wearing it, strap that holds the end of the belt already broke because the bracket is cheaply made. I ended up having to duct tape it on. Might want to consider revising this piece.

I ordered a medium as my pants are 30"-31" waist. And I can barely get the belt to the first holes. It is waaaay too small for what the size chart says.

This is amazing support for the back. I find especially helpful when you go heavy on those squats. I'm coming of a single pin after 20yrs. The Double pin can be a pain at the start but after you get used to it, it's great. More safety and stable with 2 pins.
