Would this be ok for a small cat? She has arthritis and I worry she could fall in her water bowl and not have the strength to get up and drown in it.

Great product, but concerned that water sits inside floating disc - I cammot open or dry. How hygienic is that? Does anyone else have this issue?

Hold the float with the back of the'paw' facing you (white side on mine) press the paw firmly with your two thumbs and the float comes apart for cleaning. Put the grey piece on the work top and line the white piece up using the grooves to reassemble. Easy when you're done it a couple of times
