These are the best! I bought these for our retriever after a short outing, in sub-zero conditions. He was on the snow for only about 20 minutes and seemed to love it, but his feet were sore for two or three days afterwards. Bad mom! So I ordered these after looking at all the reviews and carefully choosing the size (we got a Large for our pooch). They stay in his feet great and protect him from the cold and collecting snow and ice and salt between his pads. At first he pranced like a Tennessee Walker, but once he got outside he forgot all about them, even fetching a Frisbee in the snow. Now when we get them out he is all excited, and will hold his feet up so we can put them on him. We have used these several times now, but the big test was a couple of days ago. I took him for a walk and we were trudging through foot-deep snow, where there was about 6 inches of snow, a crust of ice, and another 6 inches of snow. Not only did the shoes not come off, when we got home I pulled on them to see if I could get them to come off without unstrapping, and had to undo both of the Velcro straps to get them off. I really think the double Velcro straps is the secret: they wrap in opposite directions, and even if one came undone, it would still have the other still in place. But none of them did come unwrapped. I usually don't take the time to write reviews, but am happily making an exception in this case. We are so happy with these, and so is Slater: no more sore feet and no more cabin fever for a very active dog!

I bought these dog boots to protect my Rough Collie's paws from the hot Asphalt during the summer in South Carolina, and joy-runs in the large fields and marshes near my house which have hazards such as oyster shells and burrs to contend with. My dog is a lean 70 lbs. and I bought the medium after measuring my dogs at 2 1/4th inches across. After using them daily for a week both on the pavement, and on the trails I've found them to be well made, durable, and extremely effective. Where I live putting your bare hand down on the asphalt during the mid-day heat for half a minute will turn your hand red, even if you wait an hour or two after the sun has gone down the heat from the pavement is still uncomfortably warm on bare feet and paws alike. I normally use Musher's Secret to keep my dogs paws safe during the winter, but the paw pad protector cream didn't seem to provide enough protection for him during the summer months. From what I've observed these boots are excellent. You have to put them on tight, but they don't come off. We've used them in pluff mud, on rocky trails, on asphalt, at a lake, and in mud. Not only did all 4 boots stay on him in all conditions we threw at them, but they were easy to clean. The only real problem that I have with the boots is their lack of ventilation. My dogs paws get pretty hot inside the boots, and his fur is often slicked down and his paw pads damp when we finish with our jog. That said, his paws would get REALLY hot without the boots, and I'm sure that added ventilation would likely come at the cost of durability. As an added bonus they are highly stylish! Atticus (my Collie) has gotten a lot of compliments on his shoes while we are out and about!

I bought these boots for my 11-year old Bouvier that has bad hips and an arthritic spine. We have hardwood floors throughout the house, so she had a lot of trouble getting up and was always slipping and sliding. When the boots arrived, I took one look at them and thought, "Yikes! These tiny little boots are never going to fit those giant paws!" I had measured her feet and added 1/4 inch, exactly as instructed, and ordered a medium--even though she's a big dog (85 pounds) with big feet. So I tried putting them on but gave up because they were too small. After checking the website again and measuring her feet again--and determining that she's still supposed to be a medium--I decided to try again. So I took my time and carefully worked one of her back paws through the small opening and pulled and tugged until her entire paw was in the boot. Hooray! The paw-part of the boot is much roomier than the opening, so once you get past the opening, the boot actually fits. The velcro closures are very easy to use--but the boots don't really bend and go part way up her leg as shown in the photo. They're more like oven mitts. Anyway...I took my time and finally got a boot on her other back paw. She walked funny at first, but I gave her lots of treats and praise and tried to distract her while she got used to them. They definitely help provide traction on the floor; she gets up MUCH more easily and doesn't slip and slide at all. Also, she totally ignores them, never tries to chew them off. The boots are very well made and stay on all day. I would give them 5+ stars except that they are so difficult to put on. But they are well worth it because they work so well. Btw, my dog lies quietly and doesn't try to move when I put her boots on her. If your dog won't stay still and is less cooperative, you might not ever be able to get them on!

Perfect for a downtown dog who has to trudge through salt and slush. Durable rubberized bottoms and comfortable fit. Follow the measuring chart. Our mid-sized labradoodle wears a size small and it fit properly (small paws and skinny legs). And he had no trouble walking around in them with the first wear. They may seem expensive but they don't seem to come off and don't tear through after only a few walks. Also relatively easy to get on with a little practice. Bonus - gives an older dog traction on polished floors.

Leider wieder nichts "Gescheites". Und für den Preis hatte ich dann doch etwas mehr erwartet. Die Innennähte sind zeimlich stark und sehr hart. Das Material recht steif ... gut, vielleicht wird beim Tragen weicher? Nun kann ich nicht mehr darüber schreiben, weil ich die Schuhe gar nicht erst richtig ausprobiert habe. Lediglich das Anfassen und Abtasten des "Innenraums" hat mich veranlasst, sie sogleich retour zu senden. Nun warte ich auf die Erstattung (was aber zeitlich noch völlig im Rahmen des "Normalen" ist und aktuell keinen Grund zur Klage darstellt.) Es bleibt offenbar schwierig, gute, bequeme, passgenaue und stabile Hundeschuhe zu finden. Derweil helfe ich mir weiterhin mit den günstigen Walker-Booties, die zwar schön weich sind, nur leider nie lange halten.

It took so long to find a shoe that fit my mastiff, but I finally did! Very happy to find something intended for larger dogs as this is always a struggle. Bought these in hopes to stop her environmental allergy exposure and so far have no complaints. They stay on very well!
