Seiko 5 Analog Navy Dial Men's Watch - SNKA05K1

I've had this watch for about two weeks now, and so far it has performed flawlessly. It took a little drop with no ill effects, and I bumped it on the door while carrying an old CRT TV, again with no ill effects. It keeps time almost as accurately as my Seiko quartz watch and/or the clock on the cell phone. I have had to set it a couple of times as it ran down on the days I didn't wear it. A full winding seems to last somewhere in the neighborhood of 24 hours. Reading some of the other reviews of these watches, I thought it might be really junky, but so far it has performed like a champ. Only time will tell if it has longevity or not, but for the price I'm really happy with it. Oh, and I think it looks great too. After reading the other reviews I was afraid it would look and feel really cheesy, but it doesn't. I really wanted a vintage blue faced watch, but they were all too spendy for my blood. I was looking for a watch to wear daily that might get knocked around some. This watch is very nice looking and has a nice heft to it, which I like. I adjusted the band via the clasp with a paper clip, and that took about two minutes. I'd say give the Seiko 5 a whirl. I'm glad I finally did.

Classic and nice watch!

First of all several facts about this watch that you cannot see on the pictures: 1) The watch is quite heavy, everything is relative but be ready for that 2) The dial surface reflects light and its color changes in different lighting. The brighter the lighting the brighter the dial color. You get this dark blue color as on the picture only in very dim light or if the watch is turned away from a light source. In bright light the color looks much brighter, I think such a color is called royal blue. From the first sight and if you expect to get this dark blue color it may look even a bit distracting. But actually after some time I got used to it and now I like it. But its me, so be aware about this. 3) The box is probably not a Seiko genuine box, although it carries the Seiko name on it. The watch does have a tag but doesn't come with any kind of warranty/instruction/user manual, only one page of photocopied instruction. 4) The band assembly on my watch was not very accurate and I had to fix it with pliers. Also one of its ends that connects to the watch is 0.5mm shorter than the watch edge. Both these issues are barely noticeable though. Taking into account the issues mentioned above and a low price I think that this watch is second rate product that didn't pass the strictest quality control due to some minor cosmetic issues. But of course this is only my speculation. On the good side the watch looks very nice and solid on a hand and actually have a look of much more expensive models, certainly it looks far more than adequate for a casual watch. Generally speaking and considering the price of this watch I am quite happy with this purchase.

This was a gift for my oldest kid. It's my 3rd time buying a Seiko 5 automatic movement watch. Love them. Styling and reliability are great.

I needed a wristwatch to wear when traveling on vacations that would not be targeted for theft on tours of Europe, Middle East, etc (rather than wearing my "good" watch.) I also wanted one that was self-winding so I didn't have to rush out and replace the battery at the last minute every year... or the battery would die just as I got to Hungary or Africa. This Seiko is reliable, easy to read, easy to set, an excellent value... and no worries about a dead battery causing me to miss getting back to the tour bus after lunch (or an hour late to the cruise ship!)

I really liked the design and size of the watch. But unfortunately, when I opened the package, the first thing that caught my eye were the 2 "(" shaped deep scratches on the glass. I started the return process, I wish it had arrived intact. There are 2 scratches towards the middle on the 10 gauge.

The blue face on the dial looks nice. I have a small wrist and the 36mm size fits perfect. I don't like the big watch trend. It runs a little fast but you can take it to a jewelry store and adjust it for you.

Die Uhr habe ich schnell erhalten in der weissen Box, diese Version wollte ich unbedingt haben wegen dem schönen blauen Ziffernblatt, das Armband ist aus gefalteten Rostfreiem Blech, allgemein sieht die Uhr sehr Klassisch und Elegant aus. Das einzige Manko ist man muss schon genau hingucken weil die Zeiger etwas klein sind aber nicht weiter tragisch. Übrigens ist das Datum auf Spanisch. Also Kaufempfehlung.

This watch replaced my previous Seiko 5 which lasted for 26 years. These are wonderful watches, self-winding; put it on each day and forget about it. They need servicing every five years or so but they keep great time and are trouble-free. This one is very attractive looking and has a high-quality stainless band. If you need to adjust the wrist-band length, there are YouTube videos that show the various types of Seiko bands and how to adjust them. It only took a few minutes and a little care.

Muy bonito. Ideal para fans de los relojes sobre todo automáticos. La correa que viene es bastante grande, pero se puede ajustar en cualquier relojería. La esfera es algo pequeña si tienes la mano grande. Pero en relación calidad precio, es insuperable.
