What is the difference between this and blue label Capstar?

There's no difference, they just changed the packaging. I have these and gave a pill to our new kitten who is 4 months old, worked like a charm and there was no side effects. Capstar is the best solution for getting rid of fleas. And they don't pay me a dime for saying so.

Is this the medicine that makes the cat act nervous like something is biting it after about 20 minutes giving the pill?

One of my cats did have this kind of reaction. He went so crazy it looked like he wanted to jump out of his skin. We gave him a bath after about 30-60 minutes of this behavior, which seemed to have helped a lot. It left him traumatized for a few days though. Our three other cats who all had pills from the same pack did not have a reaction of this magnitude. They licked for a little while but calmed down.

This product starts killing adult fleas on cats within 30 minutes. It's important to mention if you have adult fleas on your cat, you have immature life stages of fleas in your house and/or yard. Capstar will only kill the adult life stage so you can also use a topical IGR flea/tick product (one that kills adult fleas, larve, and eggs) along with this to help eliminate the other life states and eradicate the flea burden. The product can be hidden in a treat your cat likes or you may have to pill him or her so that it's certain they get the entire dose.

Can this be given in addition to a topical flea solution?

I've used the dog version of this medicine for years and have had nothing but great results. I have put topical treatment and flea collars on the same day as treatment with the pill and never had any bad reactions. I have standard poodles, the largest bread, and they have thick, kinky, hair that mattes easily, shampoo treatment just ruins their coats and makes it impossible for us to brush their already difficult hair. So this product was a godsend for us. I'm now about to purchase the car treatment for my cats that we rescued. But to answer your question, absolutely you can use the topical treatment on the same day, I even have called animal poison control to confirm that it was safe, it's two different meds that work in two different ways. And to the lady who was saying that she would never buy this product because she saw a review of an animal having a seizure from this medicine, you never know that pets medical history or if the person posting even takes their animals to the vets. The reason it is extremely important to treat our animals with pesticides, or as you say dangerous chemicals, is because our fur babies are more likely to suffer or die from not being treated with these chemicals. Fleas and ticks cause diseases, can carry heartworms, can make our animals anemic, and then the obvious make them miserable itching and dealing with painful bites. I'm not trying to sway your mind or put you down in any way, I just don't want others to read your answer and not consider the alternative of not properly taking care of their pets parasites. My dogs already have skin issues that cause itching and dryness, I couldn't bare to see them miserable with fleas bc I chose to use nothing or homeopathic medicine that does not work, bc we have also tried those and it's a waste of time, effort, and money. I highly recommend these flea pills and like I said have used them for years along with the topical treatment and flea collars with no side affects other than being flea and tick free ever since we added these pills!
