OXO Good Grips Salad Dressing Shaker

I needed a salad dressing bottle with graduations so I could just fill, shake & pour. I've gotten good products from Oxo, so I thought that this might be a good choice. I'm really happy that I bought it!The bottle is very easy to hold with its rubbery, textured green grip. It's easy to clean, although it's a bit tricky around the pouring spout, but show me a bottle that isn't (except using a cork). It's graduated so I can easily pour in my oil & water (or whatever your salad dressing of choice) without having to use a measuring cup, and shake it up really well, no leaks. Did I mention that it opens for pouring & closes back with one hand?Overall, I think that I made an excellent choice.

My mother's nickname was "Gadget" and I seem to have appropriated her nickname. So I'm a bit of a gadget freak, kitchen gadgets that is. I used to use a Ball jar, which frankly left an oily mess pretty much everywhere. Then I found this OXO dressing dispenser and I have to say it's great. But I added a steel mixing ball to it and I now have a perfect salad dressing bottle. It's small enough that I can replace the dressing often, it never drips, it pours easily with one hand and I can see what's in the bottle. I keep it in the cabinet because I don't like my oils exposed to light. Highly recommend.

Perfect for making salad dressing or sauces for the two of us. Stores nicely in the fridge due to compact size.

...and get the big size - the small size is for baleful dietetic meals eaten alone. However, both are sturdy and leakproof. The green (a non-black OXO product?!?!) is quite handsome; we named ours Franklin Jones. Another winner from OXO.

I'm pretty happy with this. I was looking for something in which I can make and store dressing and where it would not leak when I shake it and not run all over the sides of the container. Previously, I would make my dressing in old mustard jars, and it would totally leak all over when I shook them. This is not perfect and there is still a drip issue, but I suppose it would be hard to avoid that with anything (except perhaps a toil glass jar with a long metal spout- but in that case, you would not be able to shake without a leak, I imagine.)So the only downsides of this contraption are:1)I wish it were bigger- I basically go through the full volume of dressing in one week and since vinaigrette keeps for a long time, I wish I could make a larger volume.2)when shaking the seals are totally tight and totally reliable- amazingly so and it is impressive technology. However, when you pour, the dressing does kind of stick to the spout and remain there (I usually "clean" it off with some lettuce to use it), and some gets in the top of the green thing and accumulates there. That part is hard to clean off, so it kind of accumulates until I wash the whole contraption, in my case a week later.But all in all I think this is very well made and clever. If there were a bigger size I would be very psyched to get it.

I really wanted something that sealed tightly that I could shake my salad dressing in. That was pretty much the entirety of my requirements. I didn't care if it was glass or BPA-free plastic, I just wanted something that I could occasionally toss in the dishwasher if I didn't have time or energy to hand wash. The majority of them out there are so complicated with recipes on the outside or complicated designs. I even thought this one would be way more than what I needed but after using this for three months now, I can honestly say I couldn't be happier with this purchase.It seals very securely. I've never had anything leak through. It says it's dishwasher safe but I've only ever put the bottom cup part (without the green silicone/rubber seal which is located on the lid) in there. I'm not willing to risk the nice seal this thing has for the convenience of tossing it in the dishwasher. As such, I always hand wash and it's very quick and easy. The top spout part opens up just enough to be able to get part of the sponge in there or a tip of a finger for easy cleaning.The pour spout is also extremely nice to have. You can control how much dressing comes out with the little green lever at the top which is super handy and the measurements on the side could be useful as well. I'm one of those people who just kinda wings it and pours in whatever looks good so I've never actually taken advantage of it but I can see how this could be a time saver in how you don't have an extra measuring cup to wash.All in all, this is definitely recommended.

If I'm purchasing a kitchen gadget and don't know too much about the brands I ALWAYS purchase OXO. They are the best at what they do and they do it for a reasonable price point. This salad dressing shaker is simple yet well designed. It is clear so you can see what your dressing looks like as you go along. There are gradient markers in cup, milliliter and ounce markings.The portion of the jar that you'd grasp has a non-slip grip so it's safe in your hand. The mouth is large which makes adding ingredients easy. The closure is snug and open/closes with a flick of a finger. This dressing jar can be put in the fridge after use so it's both a cruet plus a storage jar.The material is dishwasher safe.

This is exactly the sort of cruet we needed to replace the glass one that my fiance dropped on the top edge of our baby gate and shattered all over the kitchen floor and dining room carpet... This, I'm confident, will not shatter and cause the sort of constant anxiety left by the shattered glass in high-pile carpet, paired with constant vacuuming and heightened fear about "what did he put in his mouth?!!". Alright, I'm being a LITTLE dramatic, but only a little.I'm thrilled with this little plastic guy! Seals very well, mixes fine, the tipping plug works just fine. Everything feels very solid, and it looks great. Doesn't hurt that my fiance's favorite color is green, either. :)No complaints so far.
