Thomas & FriendsWood, Thomas and the Dragon

This was my kid’s first “Thomas” product, and we did not get any tracks with it so I can’t speak to how well it operates with their track system. He is not a fan of the tv program, but he liked what he saw of Thomas Trains on the Amazon Prime program “I like toy trains, ticket to ride” and at a local model train club event so we got him this set since it comes with a few pieces and was about the price of the other single piece magnetic trains (about eight dollars at the time). He has very much enjoyed sticking the magnets to various things to see what Thomas can pull. As a toy it has been well painted with no splinters, the wheels turn very well, and the magnets are strong enough for the purpose. So far my son has not been able to get the wheels, magnets, or legs off of any of the pieces despite his best efforts. I don’t usually go in for a lot of tv/movie character branded merchandise, but I bought two more wooden Thomas characters from Amazon today based on the quality of this toy.

This decorated Thomas and Dragon set is a really nice version of the old classic toy. The dragon can come out of the cargo car. The little feet on the dragon are my son's favorite part. It's really fun that the feet can be folded in and out so the dragon can ride securely, or be played with alone. This is a great addition to our wooden Thomas collection.

My son received a wooden train set for Christmas. The trains that came with it were very cheap and the magnets were weak. Replaced them with this set and a couple more Thomas & Friends train sets. Much better quality! The magnets with these trains are much stronger as well. Great trains.

I know that it's in reference to a TV special from the new Thomas series, but I like that it can also be in reference to my 2-year-old son's favorite episode from the classic series that also featured a Chinese dragon being pushed by Thomas. I like that the dragon has feet to stand on to make the toy even more versatile. It is very nicely compatible with our non-Thomas-brand wooden train tracks.

Grandson loves it, but a little frustrating because the magnet holding the cars together is very weak. Could use a stronger magnet and it would be perfect.

It was cute, my grandson loved it. It was a little smaller than I had anticipated. It is wooden, so durable.
