Dexter 20400 Leather Sheath, 6" Produce Knives, Leather, Brown

Better than expected. Durable.

I'm a produce manager. Typically my store provides us the cheap plastic holsters that constantly break. Making the switch to this, not only saved me money on holsters, but had also improved my efficiency at work. Not having to struggle against the plastic to get your knife out and in is a game changer. My produce knife slips in and out the holster with 0 issues whatsoever.

Very sharp. I use at my job. I might have to put on finishing steel every now and then.

I love how easy this is to use

I bought three of these sheaths and all of them came considerably lighter-colored than the picture. The leather is basically raw/untreated and will soak up oil and wax like a sponge. I definitely recommend treating it with wax, mink oil, neatsfoot oil, or something waterproof if you plan on using it outside. The leather appears to be of good quality and the two pieces were well-stitched and riveted together. The belt loop is very simple, being just two slits in the sheath where a belt can go through rather than an actual loop. Because the sheath lacks some sturdiness and is very tight around most blades, getting the knife out when it is on a belt can be tricky. Attempting to pull the knife out with one hand bent and twisted the sheath and pulled my belt around all sorts of directions before it was liberated. Really two hands are needed to pull the knife out and replace it, which can get pretty annoying during work. Overall the sheath is of good quality for the price and will protect your knife, but you will probably want to spend the extra money for a sturdier one if you use your knife for work or plan on taking it out frequently.

When I first got it it was as expected with how snug the leather was around the knife. Now that I’ve had time to break it in, my knife glides in and out nice and smooth fits 4 & 6 inch knifes.

This was supposed to be a right handed Sheth. Maybe try better advertising? Some effort would be nice, never buying this brand ever again.

Tight fit but I suppose it will wear in as a sheath.
