BAMshaft Lacrosse Goalie Shaft

Bought it for my son, first time using a real goalie length shaft. Extra reach is very nice for clamping down ground balls and picking off passes. I think the real benefit of the wood is when you clear it; my son seems to throw much further and more accurately; it's got a nice whip to it, more than his old shaft. Doesn't chill his hands like metal does during those miserable first outdoor practices in 30 degree weather in the beginning of the season. Did have to tape it up though, it seemed to slide around in his hands a bit too easily from the lacquer finish, not what you want when stopping a fast shot. Also a bit heavier than a regular shaft but its not heavy enough to slow him down. I've read other reviews where Goalies complained about the weight. My 80 lb 10 year old seems to be able to manage it just fine; maybe these complainers need to search Amazon for a pair of "Big Boy Pants"!
