Sapphire clay lump is a blue-green hue. It's pretty hard to crack, and with a delicious crunch. When chewed, the clay rapidly dissolves to a pleasant consistency, containing no grains. It does not stick to the teeth and does not turn into mush. Blue clay has a very gentle and pleasant taste, resembling the classic "wet concrete floor" with the scent of wild herbs. In the end, there is a slight tart aftertaste. Thought it would air out and change but that seems to be the natural flavor of the clay. I wouldn’t call it earthy. I don’t know what it tastes like. It is very hard, doesn’t stick a lot to the teeth, but kinda reminds me of wax somehow. Sounds impossible, I know since it is very hard, and doesn’t really stick to your teeth. I don’t know how to explain it, but there is something waxy about it. But I am sure it will be someone’s cup of tea. Just not really what I was looking for. But that’s okay. Oh and it has very very very small grit to it. Almost completely none. That is why I was drawn to it because I hate grit. So I loved that about it.
