Fantastic brush for cats
If I touch my cat with a plastic brush she jumps up and leaves. If I pet her and then switch to this brush ahhhh she loves it! She will change positions and just eats it up. She loves being brushed with this! When she has some loose hair it will collect them, but it will not help remove undercoating. So yes, it removes loose hair, but is NOT a de-shedding brush! Still, I think this is very necessary to do regularly and your cat will enjoy it! You will have to pull the hair out of the bristles when it gets full, but it’s not big deal. Very soft and gentle. Appropriate size for most house cats.

Magic, with realistic expectations
I share an apartment with an elderly female Ragdoll mix that is really a dragon. She's sweet and terrifying, and with age she's lost some of her padding, and her bones are closer to the surface. Stiff bristles can hurt her, and more care needs to be taken during grooming not to tug on her coat and looser skin. As she's gotten older, she doesn't groom herself as thoroughly. It's become even more important that we stay on top of it, because when we don't, she'll get small mats in places. I'm so glad I decided to buy this brush. She will run over when she see's me holding it, and sit down, her back to me, and wait patiently. Reasons we love it: 1. Soft boar bristle brushes are great for distributing the natural oils produced by the skin throughout the coat. My cat's coat is shinier, and appears more full. She also gets a little dander at the base of her tail because, as she's gotten older, spots like this have become harder to reach. Since using this brush, this condition has improved a good deal. I'm guessing it in part has to do with the redistributed natural oils moisturizing the skin. 2. She likes it so much, it's not just maintenance she'll put up with awhile, and then escape from. I feel like we're not just grooming now, we're bonding. Someone else described it as a massage for cats, but my old dragon regresses and acts kittenish. 3. The soft bristles don't seem to hurt her when used around her bony or tender spots. I have a steel comb we've used for years. I find that when I alternate this brush with the comb, she's more amenable to being fussed over, and our grooming sessions are longer and more productive. 4. Soft boar bristle brushes aren't really supposed to strip dead hair from the undercoat, so don't expect that when you see "Deshedding Tool." We still get results though. In addition to the gains and improvements mentioned above, we do get respectable clumps of hair for the bin during a session. Cleaning is pretty easy. I use the wide bristles of my steel comb to lift hair up and out of the brush bristles. 5. This seems to be well made. The wood handle is nicer in my opinion than plastic alternatives. I also feel like the boar bristles reduce the static that nylon bristles would cause. Fair price for the quality I received. Verdict: It's been tested on two different cats, one adult with short hair, and one senior with long, and they both LOVE it. Can't recommend it enough for anyone. Use it with kittens or adoptees that need to get used to being groomed. Use it with seniors or convalescing cats that need the softness. You really can't go wrong.

Good dog brush for small breed short haired dogs
Using to brush short hair chihuahua - if I can keep his rowdiness in one place long enough for a swipe or 3. This brush has the gentle but effective bristle to be used without scraping skin.

Perfect for short-haired smallish dogs.
My pup loves this brush. I know it's advertised as a primarily for cats, but for my short-coated dog it's the one brush she'll tolerate. The bristles are ample and the perfect firmness for a short-coated dog. She seems to feel it's more of a massage, but it does actually remove loose hairs and I assume surface dirt. It fits in the hand easily and is small enough to brush her head and cheeks. Very effective for my purposes, and combined with a little silkening spray my pup smells good all the time and has a healthy, shiny coat. Great value.

Well made, soothing to my cat; but so so on the hair collecting
I have a short hair tuxedo cat with silky hair. While she definitely likes the brush itself (she actually wanted to play with it), it doesn't get all that much hair off of her. The general wire pet brush does better for hair removal. But it does seem be calming to use on her, so for that reason I don't regret getting it.

Effective Cat Hair Brush with Room for Improvement
The cat hair brush has proven to be a valuable tool in my quest to keep my cat's fur under control. The bristles are gentle yet effective in removing loose hair and reducing shedding. My cat seems to enjoy the brushing sessions, as it provides a pleasant grooming experience for them. The ergonomic design of the brush makes it comfortable to hold and maneuver. The handle is sturdy and provides a good grip, allowing for easy use even during longer grooming sessions. The size of the brush is also convenient, making it suitable for both small and large cats. One area for improvement is the durability of the brush. While it performs well in removing loose hair, I have noticed some bristles starting to bend or come loose after extended use. This could affect the overall effectiveness and lifespan of the brush. It would be beneficial if the bristles were more securely attached to ensure long-lasting performance. Another aspect to consider is the ease of cleaning the brush. While the brush itself is relatively easy to clean, I have found that some hair tends to get trapped between the bristles, requiring extra effort to remove. A design improvement that facilitates easier hair removal would be advantageous.

So soft. My cat loves to be brushed with this
My cat LOVES to be brushed with this. It may not get all the undercoat but it gets a lot. Did I mention he loves this brush?

I got this brush to use with a slicker brush - it’s not going to remove a tonne of excess hair, or get through knots, but it does pick up a surprising amount of fur and my cats who normally don’t like getting brushed absolutely love the feeling. I tap this brush and my ragdoll comes running (who was the most anti-grooming). He still tries to bite it, but will patiently let me brush until my arm gets sore while he kneads. Their coats feel so soft and smooth afterwards, this is a great brush to use in addition to whatever you use for shedding

It isn’t effective at brushing any knots out although my cat likes to be brushed with it.

I really wasn't sure about this brush when I first ordered it but after using it the first time I knew my cat loved it. She's never really had issues with matting but gets hairballs often. She hates slicker brushes and won't sit still for a de-shedding brush so it becomes a real chores to deal with her. However with this brush, she loves it and seems to find the brushings very relaxing. The wood handle has a good finish on it and the bristles are all uniform and secure. I can see this brush lasting a long time. Definitely worth the price.

It was on a top 10 brush list so I thought I'd try it. Our cats love it and it feels like it's good quality. It's a nice treat after the real grooming brush (though our cats like getting brushed). Only issue is it must carry a good, strong smell bc it still takes a couple minutes to get reacquainted (aka sniff like crazy and get some chews in).
