I spent most of my working life in commercial kitchens, starting as utility staff (dishwasher) and working through the ranks to having became an Assistant Manager. In my dishwasher days, in the first restaurant I ever worked in, after several months of dish washing, I guess I impressed my store's manager because he brought me in a square of chainmail to use when scrubbing pots, pans, and baking sheets. I remember it worked extremely well and I had tried off and on for many years to find some for home use. Now I have some! Having a lot of cast iron cookware, this 'scrubber' is a true blessing to me. It removes baked on foods better than ANY brand of steel wool soap pad, or even the shredded steel stuff in most commercial dish areas, and it doesn't scratch/scar the surface of your cookware. I now use this religiously every time I wash any cast iron - even if scouring is not needed. I also use it on my stainless steel and aluminum cookware with equally great results. True, there are some things that this cannot scrub as well as soap pads can - it's not designed to be the 'scrub everything' modern wonder of the world - but for daily scrubbing, if you haven't tried it, you really should! It's safer to use and lasts a lot longer than soap pads. The biggest plus in my opinion for using chainmail (like this item) for scouring food utensils/cookware is that the food residue doesn't get trapped in it, virtually eliminating any chance for mold growth. Another big plus to me is that this doesn't rust and will last for a long, long, time. We all know spun steel wool soap pads rust immediately after first use, shrink to almost nothing in a very short time, and they retain food residue which will decay in the steel wool pad. Steel wool pads also often give slivers in fingers/hand, which is not only painful at times, but dangerous to our health because of the bacteria growing on the decaying food trapped in the steel wool - a great way to get an infection. I'm VERY happy with this product. It's a nice size to use and with a bigger ring at the corner, it's easy to hang up when not in use. BOTTOM LINE: This should be used by everyone who washes dishes. (It may take you a few times to get accustomed to the feel of it, but it doesn't stab you with shreds of steel and will always be the same size.) For what it's worth: I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS ITEM

This cast iron scrubber is a life saver! I struggled to clean my cast iron pots but this scrubber is absolutely amazing for removing stuck on food! The quality is also the best as stainless steel is long lasting and sanitary!

This is a great stainless steel scrubber. I use stainless steel pans, and some food can stuck to the pan. But I can use this scrubber and food items come right off. It is really light weight, but works great! I am sure everyone knows not to use this for non-stick pan and all other pans with coating. This is a MUST have if you are a stainless steel pan user.

This is my favorite way to clean my cast iron skillet- which is the only pan I cook from. Easy to use, with salt and water. I have purchased this multiple times and will continue to do so until my pan is taken from my cold, dead hands.

This is truly amazing and works really good , I even bought one for a client that has a lot of cast-iron as I liked it so much cleans my cast irons so easily and still looks brand new. I do hang it to dry.

I use this every time I have to clean my cast iron pan and it’s great at removing food residue. I use a tiny little drop of dish soap, hot water, and this and it gets clean every time. I also found that it helped to smooth the slightly rough surface on my pan (it’s a cheaper cast iron) so food sticks less. When the scrubber gets a bit dingy I just put it in the dishwasher. Would recommend.

I can’t believe I own chain mail! But seriously, this has worked wonderfully on my cast iron. I’ve tried it on a roasting pan as well, and was not impressed with the results. Way easier to clean than typical steel wool cleaning pads

This scrubber is amazing! It cleans my cast iron Dutch oven and frying pan effortlessly when I have anything that’s stuck on- like eggs. It hasn’t stripped the seasoning at all- I’ve been using it for a few months- The stainless steel quality feels durable and strong, and it’s the perfect size to grip comfortably.

Works as advertised, cleans cast iron pans in a jiffy no matter how much burnt on food there is, with or without soak, the pan comes out clean. Might need to wash the chain with some soap afterwards, but the cast iron seasoning is unaffected if you wash without detergent.
