Just My Style You*niverse 3D Crystal Growing Kit, DIY Unicorn Crystal, At-Home STEM Activity for Kids Age 6+

My daughter received one as a gift, and it broke after some time of having it and she was was upset so we ordered one to do as a rainy weekend project. I misread the instructions and mixed the solution and put it right in the container.. ( which took alot to find one that fit it fine) the crystals did not form.. I ordered another one as i figured that was my mistake.. this time waited the 2 hours and then put the unicorn in and let it sit for the 24 hours and it turned out great like our first one. She got it painted and was worth everything to see her smile. We even used the left over paint and i water colored her hand.. ( washed off in the shower) Great family time!

This was fun to do and we kept it on a shelf. My 6 year old enjoyed creating it!

My husband was helping our daughter with the instructions. He read them and stuck the unicorn into the freshly boiled water immediately, instead of waiting the half hour. Nothing happened to the unicorn, but I did notice the mistake within 30 seconds of that happening. Adding water will not lighten the dyes. Just in case someone wants to do that, it doesn't work like water colors. Also, the instructions call orange "light red". It's orange haha. The crystals formed AMAZINGLY. My daughter left it in overnight, and took it out the next morning/afternoon at about 5pm maybe? So not quite a full 24 hours in the water, but close.

We left ours overnight in the solution and we got a pretty even coating of crystals. I was hoping the crystals would grow larger (as on the picture) when we leave it alone for another 24 hours but the salt just started to build sediments on the bottom of the container. One important thing to know is that crystals won't be well in areas you touched with your bare hands. We washed our hands properly and then handled the unicorn only with a tissue.

Bought this as a rainy day activity for my 6 year old niece. And I am so glad I did!! It’s an interesting DIY stem project that shows the process of crystallization. The best part is you can paint it however you like. It was very very easy to do. Leave the figurine in the solution over night , and make sure you don’t shake it. In a few hours you will start noticing the crystals forming , by morning it will be ready. I let it sit for some time to dry and then we began to paint. It came with a big poster, 3 color droppers,1 silver paint, one brush , and color mixing pallet, glitter packet & a wood stick. I’ve attached some pictures to show the process step by step. Final verdict - BUY IT!! You will not regret it. The Unicorn comes out beautiful after it dries up.

My 11 years and I bought this item to make Christmas gifts for her friends. Unfortunately, it was not successful. Not sure where or how it went wrong.

This set is amazing! They provide all the supplies you need and it is a perfect and time consuming activity. It is really easy to make and totally works. This is the perfect gift and is really worth the money! It helps u make a great accessory and is super pretty

This review is for the jewelry kit. The only thing a child can do with this is to pour the glue into the charms and add color to the crystals. Everything else must be done by an adult. I suspect that we got an old kit as the powder was somewhat solidified. We followed the directions exactly. We mixed up the powder with hot water and put glue in the charms. Here is where the directions are dangerous. In one part of the directions, they tell you not to touch the powder. In another part, they tell you sprinkle the powder on the glue and press down on it with your finger! We let the powder and hot water solution as well as the charms with glue and powder to sit overnight. This allowed plenty of time for the water to cool and the glue to dry. The next morning we hung the charms in the solution. The glue dissolved in the charms, so no crystals will form on them. All of the powder in the solution solidified and sank to the bottom of cup we were using. Perhaps using boiling water would have helped with keeping the powder dissolved, but the directions say to use hot water, not boiling water. I have used crystal growing kits successfully before. This one you can skip.

Crystals didn't really grow on the unicorn as they showed in the picture. Very sparse.
