Inexpensive way to connect landscape lighting.
I bought these to install landscape lights around my house. Initially I spent a fortune buying the ridiculously expensive connectors by Sunvie and Modtec. When I needed to install more landscape lights, I wised up and bought these very inexpensive connectors inspite of bad reviews. They are a little harder to install and require a few slight modifications, but they work just fine. The main problem is with the spade connectors. They don’t easily slip over the T-splice connectors. I ended up splitting the plastic sleeve around the spade so that the metal spade clicks into the T-splice for a solid connection. Also the T-splice connectors don’t always penetrate the insulation especially if the wiring has a more robust insulation. So I facilitated the connection by cutting a notch in the insulation with my wire stripper before applying the T-splice connectors. They all worked fine and it costed just pennies.

Very cool items.
I recently used the T-Tap connector for a car stereo installation. The T-Tap connector made it easy to tap into the existing wiring without soldering. This was important to me because of the limited amount of space that I was working in. Very nice design and easy to use.

I don't know I'd recommend if you're trying to save time
The basic spade connectors seem to be adequate, however, if you use them with the t tap connectors make sure the spade is in the middle of the isolation boot. If its not, you need to make sure the spade is lined up into the opening of the t tap. Otherwise your connection won't be completed. Also the t tap splicing lug does not allow the wire to nest into the slot. (see pics ) I used good 18 ga wire with red connectors. First off I had to use wire strippers to bare the wire so that a good connection was provided. These t taps will not slice the wire sheathing and allow the wire to rest in the slot. I tried, and checked every one of the 14 red connectors on 18 ga wire. I tried the blue t taps for the same 18 ga wire and they worked properly only after I used the wire strippers to cut the slot in the wire sheathing. T taps are great ideas, but it has to work properly or it is much more time consuming than regular splices. I wasted 8 to 10 connectors and lots of time making them work properly. Actually If I hadn't used about 25 connectors I probably would have sent them back
