It's BLACK and it works.
I've used Shoe GOO for years to extend the life of my otherwise-good shoes. It really works! It's durable, it adheres well with adequate surface prep, and it does in fact keep the shoes going. Surface prep is important: I always clean the area to be covered with a cloth and isopropyl alcohol, then let it dry before applying. Shoe GOO is *sticky* and can be messy. I apply in small areas only. I've found the absolute best way to shape it is to put on the amount I need, then smooth it with a well-licked finger. ShoeGOO doesn't stick to saliva. (I know, yuck, right? But it works.) With these tricks, it's easy to get a useful layer where you want it. My biggest gripe was that the original, clear ShoeGOO turned brownish-yellow and looked bad. This new BLACK version addresses my biggest gripe.

Its good. Lasts forever
It works great. Fixed motorcyccle boots with it. If you have a jacked up thing that needs to be stuck back together this will do it. Might not be pretty but it wont let you down.

It's messy but it works wear gloves
Think black tar that's a little bit too drippy. This is very messy stuff you must wear gloves like surgical medical latex gloves or something like that. When you squeeze it out it will seem to drip and you will worry that it will drip all over but it won't it becomes a gel almost immediately and then you can shape it but it's still messy when you shape it it doesn't drip at that point. You'll be glad you use the gloves. Also put paper towel or newspaper underneath whatever you're working on because you are going to get it on the table. Keep it off your clothing you might want to wear an apron. Best to do it in the garage. Don't swear while you use it it's doing the best it can. I did the back heels of my rain boots and you can see it came out excellent. The back of the heels had worn off unevenly and now they're perfectly good again. It dries similar to the feeling of a car tire. Not I'd like plastic but rubbery like the rubber of a running shoe soul. It dries with a shiny black surface so you should know that. Don't lose the cap to the tube. I'm glad I got it I will use it on other shoes in the future that have black soles. I'm glad I did it the right way with plenty of newspaper on the ground and with latex gloves my hair tied back and an apron on. Good lighting is essential. If you take shortcuts about using this you will be sorry. If you don't you will be very pleased with your results. See photos

Truly Incredible Product
I have been using Shoe Goo for over 30 years to extend the lives of my work shoes. I used to load delivery trucks and walking back and forth on the loading docks would wear down the heels of my shoes while the uppers were still like new. Shoe Goo applied in layers helps build back the soles and wears incredibly well and adheres great as well. It only takes about a day to cure. I use alcohol to clean the surface and dry it before applying just to make sure it sticks. The negative reviews I see for this are mostly from user error and ignorance of what this does. This Shoe Goo is not really intended for gluing shoes back together. Gluing soles or edges of soles is much better done by super glue. This really excels as rubber mending or rebuilding product. I have used this to fix all kinds of rubber things. It lasts for years too. I put some of this on a hair dryer on/off slide switch which had no traction and was hard to operate as my finger would slide. This fixed the problem and is still working 8 years later and I use it every day! This is really an amazing product. You will not find anything else that does what this does and it isn’t expensive. I always keep a tube of this around and so should you. Highly recommend.

Worked great
Worked great to adhere a sole that had detached from a shoe. Be careful not to apply too much, it's a bit of a mess to wipe off once on the shoe. But holds great.
