Best nail files
These are fantastic! These glass/crystal nail files are way better than any other material. I don't like the foam, cardboard, and/or paper files for feeling too disposable. And in my opinion, metal files shred your nails, and they rust. These don't wear out like the ones that are essentially sandpaper taped to cardboard or foam: I bought these June 2014 and writing this review Oct 2018, more than four years later and still have three of the five, even after two moves, and they work the same as they did when they were new. It's a very clean and smooth file, but at the same time, removes a good bit of the nail. The performance reminds me most of the cardboard/disposable type with a heavy grit paper, if not a little bit smoother. They definitely do not shred your nails like a metal file (like the ones attached to clippers). You can also rinse them off to clean them and they dry right away thanks to a non-porous surface. The "file" is etched into the glass. The only downside to having glass files is even though they don't wear, they can break fairly easily, so if you throw them in a drawer with a bunch of other stuff and they get bent, or if you drop them the wrong way, or step or sit on one, they will break. This did happen to one of them when I first got them and thought it would end up being a problem, but I have been keeping them in a small container along with clippers, cuticle pusher, tweezers, etc and they have been fine.

These Glass Nail Files Will Make Your Nails Feel Like Butter!!
(See Photos) Purchased from seller: VAGA SHOP US These nail files are amazing!!! Note, this is the first time I have ever purchased crystal glass nail files. I have always heard they were the way to go but never saught them out, until I decided to order my next nail files online (convenience) and came about them here. Isn't Amazon the best???! I thought these were a bargain for the set of 4, under $7. They took forever to ship, no longer than anything else I usually receive from Asia though. Arrived in perfect condition, well packaged. I am now a permanent glass file kinda gal- no turning back, ever!! I've been missing out, like, big time! Haha.. First off, I absolutely love that they have a pointed end, unlike regular emery board files! I hadn't thought about it but practically speaking, if anyone else has thumb nails like mine lol... where the cuticle is not perfectly round, a bit more like square with round corners, haha... These pointed ends are just awesome! Especially for me who (confession!!) has picked-up a terrible habbit of removing my cuticles.... These glass files make my nails feel like butter (and my husbands lol, he was in for a treat of a manicure while watching The Voice, ha!). What my nails are especially thankful for, is that these files actually smooth out my cuticles and the skin around my nails, also like butter! If anyone else has experienced hardened or over-grown cuticles, you know that no amount of moisturizer compares to the feeling of removing them (terrible as that is- don't do it, they grow back worse!)! Well these can file, while smoothing, in a way that doesn't quite feel like any grit of sand paper (I've tried just about all styles of regular nail files). I can't really explain it but if you've yet to try one- I definitely recommend these!! Dry cuticles or not, here are a treat I think every woman (and man for that matter) deserves!!! Put a little cuticle oil, essential oils of choice, or hand cream on, and then put these on for the night or even just ten minutes... It's just like putting thin cotton socks on after a moisturizing foot soak- the cotton just locks in all the moisture and feels wonderful! They are of course sold in smaller packs but I think these were a great buy and I recommend them: CARA Model 810 Cotton Glove Dispenser Box, Small, 24 Count Since I do remember seeing a few mixed reviews, I listed the seller I purchased these glass files from at the top of this review and uploaded a few pictures. Very happy with my purchase and do recommend you buy from this seller with confidence. Smile. Hope this helps! *UPDATE - 9/25/15 - Just received another set after giving too many of my others away, lol. Purchased from same seller and received the same colors with sleeves. They are now labeled with brand name; uploading another photo. Same excellent quality!

Never buy a nail file again
I used to be a compulsive nail biter, and unsuccessfully tried several times to kick the habit. Someone finally recommended that I file my nails to smooth, so that I had no excuse to bite them. It worked! In the first several months after kicking the biting habit I didn't have much experience with nail maintenance, and was almost constantly filing them down to keep them at a proper length. Nail clippers? psht. I went through several standard files, which always wore down within a month, and decided that I needed to find a better solution. I saw these online and had to give them a go. I must say, these files are amazing! After several months of heavy use, the first and only one I have used is good as new, and doesn't appear to have any wear whatsoever. The grain is pretty course, which works perfectly for someone like myself that uses a file to shorten them. I also love that the file is thin enough to fit under my nail in order to get a perfectly smooth tip and to work around the corners. The pack comes with 5 files. I gave one to my mom, one to my brother, and have 2 stashed away in a drawer somewhere for when I eventually lose the one I use. This is by far the best investment (value/ $ spent) that I have ever made. If you go through files quickly like I used to, do yourself a favor and grab yourself a pack of these. You'll never have to buy another file again.

A Great Basic, High Quality File
I can't speak for how long these files hold up to regular filing as I have just received these, but I had to jump on here to review. There are 5 files in this set, all colored as pictured. These are thick files, and are a good size. 5.5" long, and about 3mm thick. The grain is smooth, think frosted glass and will definitely get the job done for shaping or quick fixes. I used these right out of the package and was pleasantly surprised by the smooth edge it left on the ends of my nails, which is something that isn't easy to attain with normal grit emery boards. Each file comes in their own plastic protective sleeve. You won't want to drop these as they are certainly fragile which is clear as you handle them but overall, this is a great set and for the price it can't be beat! The only issue I may have with these is that they are a bit thicker than I am used to, which makes it feel a little clumsy getting under the sides of my nails... this is something I will be getting used to, because these are a great value and DEFINITELY an upgrade from normal emery boards. So far, so good!

Love these things -- but watch out. Not all glass files are created equal!
Excellent nail files. I've never used glass files before and didn't see how they would work, but they are great -- gentle but work quickly. They seem to be a very fine grit, but they still shape the nails almost too fast -- I have to watch out that I don't take too much off. And they leave a very nice smooth edge. I expect they will turn out to be breakable but at this price, I don't really care. I have spares. They really keep my nails in shape and might even be reducing cracks and splits. Updte: I didn't realize how good these VAGA files are since they were the first I tried. So for Christmas I ordered several sets as gifts (from eBay, but hey, my first buy was random, too!). They were very pretty and came in a set of three different sizes in nice cases, so I gave them away. But I had one set left over -- so I tried them. Wow. Not even close to these in quality. They seemed to be a much coarser grit, but didn't actually remove much nail. And the grit seemed uneven. I just wanted to throw them away. I'm so embarrassed! I'm ordering everyone a set of these which I will deliver with an apology.

Great Value, Decent product
I went through 2 of the Germanikure brand glass files, which I loved, but twice they broke in my backpack. After breaking 2 that cost $15 i figured it was worth a shot trying these since i could get 4 of them for less than $13. I was a bit worried they'd be the kind where grit is added onto the glass instead of etched into the glass itself, but these are the real deal. only thing I don't love is the color, but I'll take it for the price. The cases are also a nice feature. hopefully I won't be breaking any more.

The Best Glass Nail Files for Cheap!
These are some of the best glass nail files you can get for a great price. You get 4 files for $10 and they're all nicely made. They don't have spray-on grit and are actually etched, meaning they'll last much longer and keep a smooth finish on your nails. These files are great at shaping the nail and taking off larger portions if you don't want to clip your nails (don't recommend clipping them anyways). They comes in cute colors and are standard length. Unlike some other reviews, mine arrived thankfully in whole pieces and weren't shattered. Overall, these nail files are affordable and give you your money's worth since they do such a great job at filing and shaping the nail. 10/10 would recommend and purchase again.

Doesn't work well.
Doesn't last long. Brand new, barely files. There is hardly a grab on nails.
