STAEDTLER Mars Lumograph Black Art Pencils, Presharpened HB/#2 Artist Pencils, Box of 12, 100B-HB

These are excellent drawing pencils that are a nice matte black finish without having to deal with the "graphite shine"! These are the only pencils I will draw with now.

It gives you the dark tones of charcoal, but feels like graphite. Does not smudge as easily as charcoal. Just a great composition curious to how they make these different from other charcoal.

First time I ordered these they sent the 6B instead of the HB listed. I recently tried ordering again and this time they sent HB. Which I’m glad about and why I’m updating my review. This is a great pencil but for some reason it is hard to find the HB anywhere besides online. I typically use with toned paper. Doesn’t shine like normal graphite pencils will do, which I like. The darks are very dark and it doesn’t smear as easy as normal pencils. It’s almost a cross between a graphite pencil and a black color pencil.

独特の色味を持つ鉛筆です。ツヤがない仕上がり、濃い黒色です。この色が私は気に入っていますが、通常の鉛筆の色味ではありません。(通常の鉛筆は重ねていくと黒ビカリします)そのため私の制作では通常の鉛筆と併用しないことにしました。この鉛筆で描く時は最初から仕上げまでこの鉛筆で行うことにしています。たしか硬度の高い10H〜5Ｈ等はないと思います。調べてください。木炭の代わりとしては優秀です。

No refleja apenas. Muy oscuro. Agradable. Lo más agradable de todo es que lo compré con 50% de descuento. Jejejje.

I included a quick sketch; for this I wanted the contrast to really bite — as it does in the photo it was copied from — and these pencils did not disappoint. It is easy to get really solid blacks without that graphite sheen that other pencils give. They are very soft so you need to sharpen with a really sharp scalpel or something similar, or a high quality pencil sharpener with a sharp blade in it. Also handle them gently. Great pencils, easy to handle, they work well for anything from quick light sketches to pitch black. If you draw a lot, get some 7B and have a go, especially if you have never used such soft pencils.
