I do not usually leave reviews for products unless I am genuinely impressed with what I receive and this is one of those occasions. I initially thought about buying a hatchet to turn some of my logs into kindling for my open fire, I then searched for kindling and then stumbled across this product. They were cheap, on prime, environmentally friendly and claimed that no kindling or fire starters required. I was sceptical so thought I would give them a try. Normal excellent next day prime delivery. Followed the advice to break in half and placed onto the grate, I have some coal left over so popped a few lumps on top of the product, lit the broken edges and placed 3 hardwood logs on top and left it to do its thing. I have found that normal paraffin based fire lighters burn away too soon before the wood properly catches however these fire lighters kept going and going causing the logs to properly start to burn along with the coal burning to keep the fire in for hours. Genuinely impressed with the product and super simple to use. No smell, no mess and again good for the environment. Will be ordering more for sure.

These are terrific. Easy to light and they set the fire so easily without paper or kindling sticks. Also they burn evenly for a long time so your fuel whether logs or coal doesn’t just burn up like a blast furnace. You get a steady burn and a long-lasting fire without sacrificing a load of fuel/kindling to get it going. Will definitely buy again. No more smelly firelighters!

They are easy to use, but you are effectively forced to use 1/2 of a full brick for each fire as they break into halves easily but would need to be sawed to make any smallef division. 1/2 brick will start even a charcoal fire as it provides steady heat for around 10 minutes. A smaller piece would work, but if it does it would reduce the fairly steep cost per fire by 1/2. I think I might get out my saw...

I got these intially to be environmentally friendly, which they are, but they're also actually make starting a fire easier too. The trick is that you do things a little different to a normal fire ( video attached ). Instead of building your fire, then lighting it, you light the fireBuilder, give it a second or two to get going, then build your fire on top! Easy! Saves you needing kindling, newspaper, or anythingelse too, so all you need is one ( or half of one ) of these to start the whole fire, and some wood to keep it going. They're great!

Absolutely brilliant. I am a long seasoned stove and fire woman, and these are exceptional. They do exactly what they say they do. A half piece lights easily and within minutes the fire is going full pelt, even using stove ovoids which are notoriously difficult to use when more or less starting to light the fire. I immediately bought another couple of boxes after the first box - I wish I could buy in 10’s rather than in smaller amounts, maybe at a competitive small discount ?! Love them, don’t wait any long-standing just get some. ( They are especially useful in my holiday cottage for clueless guests and the wood stove ! Agh !) Update The first two orders I bought were brilliant. My third order was much less effective and I had to use a couple of firelighters ?!? Same stove, same wood load and same system. They just glowed and didn’t burn ? Has something in the recipe changed since my first buy ? Please have a check infernico, as they were going to be my ‘forever’ firelighter.

Edited 2023: I no longer use these as the price is now exorbitant for what they are. Infinitely cheaper to use firelighters and kindling now. Shame because it was a good product These are so clean and easy in comparison to kindling and firelighters. I don’t use them as described in the video for 3 reasons. 1) I burn dense ecologs (RUF oak and bark) and these snuff the firebuilder out. 2) I have to use a paraffin cream for a skin condition and it’s too risky to put my hand/arm over the flames to place firewood. 3) I’m a fan of top down burning as once lit I don’t need to open my stove again until the burn is complete. I place one of these on top of my bark with some hotmax underneath, light the firebuilder, leave the stove door open a little longer than I would with kindling but once it’s taken that’s job done. Yes it’s a little less charming than kindling and doesn’t have the same instantaneous effect but for space, cleanliness, ease of use it’s a fantastic thing. Like them so much that I’ve subscribed.

These are great products and do really work. I have put thick logs on our log burner and just one of these and they do get the fire going. You probably have to keep a close eye as to when the logs are ready to turn, unlike when you put a hand full of kindlin on the log burner and it makes a bed of embers, which you can throw a log on. However you then go through kindling at a rate of knots and probably spend more that way. So great product and don’t let the price put you off. Oh on some occasions when I have need to make them stretch I have managed to break 1 single sheet instead of into 2 , but managed to break to 4 and then makes them stretch a little more.

Can't fault this product. Arrived well packaged, extremely easy to use and did the job exactly as I wanted. Superb. Much better than messing about with stinking firelighter cubes or spraying that liquid fire lighting stuff all over the coals. I used a full block, followed the instructions and genuinely, other than to spread the coals out once they were at the cooking stage I never had to do anything else with the coals at all. No blowing, fanning, adding firelighters or anything like that. Will definitely be buying more as we barbecue our meals (where possible and weather permitting) several times a week in the summer. Lovely, tasty and healthy. Simply put, this is a brilliant product that I highly recommend. 10/10 - nice one!

J’ utilise ce produit pour une cheminée fermée ou ouverte , c’est très pratique et efficace. Seul chose le carton de cet allume-feu est très vite utiliser .

This is a great product, much better than the stinky kerosene based ones. I found you can break them in half again to get more out of them. They do cost more than standard firefighters but I think they are worth it.

Para los leñadores, supervivientes del bosque y demás, esto es matar moscas a cañonazos, pero si tu idea es encender un fuego aún con leña mojada (sí, mojada) o rápido, son tus pastillas. Evidentemente, porque son tabletas grandes del tamaño de una de chocolate, pero se pueden cortar para aprovecharlas mejor.

Alles bestens, brennen gut an, und halten lange, habe 1 Stück in 4 Teile zerlegt, 1/4 davon reicht schon zum Feuer machen, alles bestens.
