Who does not love mathematics? Many of us, but there are plenty of people with a natural aptitude to it or just like it. These people were kids once too and those kids may choose to do maths to a decent level. 'Oxford Primary Illustrated Maths Dictionary' is not going to get someone through University, but it is a great tool for an older primary/younger secondary student who wants to know a little more about the concepts they are learning. This maths dictionary acts like its more familiar cousin. It is an A-Z list of words, but they all have their origins in maths. Each meaning will have a plainly worded explanation that a child will be able to ingest. What makes the book stand out more are the other useful tools dotted around the book. Some basic math ideas are expanded upon and a dictionary becomes more of a useful wider resource. I am not 100% which child is going to want to use this book. It leans more towards the academically inclined and a child struggling with maths may find this book intimidating. If you have, or know, a child who is 8+ that has a genuine interest in maths and looks like they plan to pursue it, then this is a resource that will be helpful for them and may even prove enjoyable to read.

This book is a great book about diverse math subjects for kids. However, it only covers basics and its not really a dictionary rather it is a workbook testing you on word meanings as opposed to other illustrated books that have illustrations and words and Definitions.
