Few complaints, overall pretty good case. Would buy again.
I'll start off by saying I came back to this brand after loving the case I had on my S4 Active, so when it came time to protect my new and improved S5 I decided to come back to Trident for phone protection. The case really seems to have a good hold on the phone, I never question if it will eject my phone should it take a robust drop. The rubber material on the outside has a nice grip to it without it being overly sticky in the pockets when going in, but it does hang up a bit. However my first of three nitpicks abut this product is the rubber material itself. Compared to the material of the previous Trident Cyclops case I had for my S4 Active, the rubber on this one is a bit more stiff and seems to have a bit less give to it. Functionally it still may be perfectly fine, but I liked the feel of the other one more. The plastic screen cover has access holes in it for the home button and speaker/camera area and I have found that small bits of dirt and debris will make their way in between the screen and the cover giving until you give in to the desire to pry apart the phone to clean out the little gunky crumbs. Maybe my pockets are a bit more dirty than others as I tend to default by placing trash and small trinkets in them when I get distracted, but it keeps things entertaining when having to empty pockets for laundry. I resolved this by just pulling on the clear screen cover until the tacky adhesive gave way and removed it all together. The phone has a SLIGHT bit of room to move up and down though now after doing this, hardly enough to tell. My last and most annoying complaint was the charging port cover. The tab that is on the phone itself has a small spot to put your finger nail under to pry it up, with this case unless your finger nails are a bit longer than the tips of your fingers, you'll have a near impossible time getting it open. I had to grab a paper clip to open it. I wound up using a box cutter and removing a portion of the case to get access for my finger. Overall it's a pretty good case, despite my gripes I do like it enough to stay with this brand over some of the more expensive brands that have disappointed me.

Heavy Armor, like a Tank -- Great, but more than I needed
So, I gave this about a week or two for proper testing of all the conditions, and given that the case is now three years old (manufacturer date: 2014); I thought I'd cut it some slack on the design shortfalls.First-off: Armor. 10/10.The armor and protection of this thing, is overkill. I'm talking, you could probably use the phone with case in it as a weapon to break glass if you wanted to. Very solid construction, very strong rigidity.Weight & Profile: 62 grams, high profile. 4.5/10.The case is *very* bulky, and feels like you've got an extended battery case when you clearly don't. The screen is recessed into the armor, and the profile makes it difficult to grip with one hand without your hands hurting after a while. It's literally a brick shape. This might be a good thing for some, it depends on your preferences.Aesthetics: 9/10Strictly speaking, the case is very well designed with bright contrasting colors, and that's why I got it in the first place.Other:Does not have clicky buttons. A major, major, major downside. I fixed this manually with some tools, however. I can't write how I did it in a review because I think that might be patented. It's made of "biodegradable plastic". I don't know how much of this is true, but I believe it mostly because it comes out a little bleached from spending time in a box for three years, but didn't lose any structural integrity. Easily solved by cleaning it with some isopropyl.

Excellent case
Very good case for the Galaxy S5. My previous phone (Atrix2) had a Trident Aegis that is the level below the Cyclops. It did not protect as well as the Cyclops does. 2 piece design with built in screen protector. It is much more robust feeling than I expected. Does an excellent job of drop protection and the screen protector is very sensitive to touch and does not scratch. I thought I would need the Kraken level protection but this is plenty for someone who is active and has their phone on them at all times. Would definitely buy again if for some reason this one breaks (unlikely).Amazon had it listed for half as much compared to other sites and shipping was fast.PROS: Very solid. Decent color selection. Excellent drop protection. Built in screen cover very high quality. Great port protection. Buttons feel normal and don't require extra pressure or finagling. Doesn't add too much extra depth, width or height to phone, can still fit in my carpenter pants leg pocket. Be advised case removal requires a thin or small screwdriver, meaning it wont come off or apart easily.CONS: Trade off to good port cover makes it hard to access the phone charging port door, but due to the long battery life of the phone I olny need to access it every 4-5 days. Smudges on the screen cover are hard to remove but aren't really noticeable.

Great case - Couple design dlaws
I absolutely love this case. The colors arw brilliant! A wonderful bright pink with contrasting black. It doesn't make my phone much larger which is important to me since I have smaller hands. The rubber is in all rhe right places so I have a better grip. I have a neurological disorder that can mske holding on and issue, which unfortunately results in many drops. It has protected my phone 100%. The reason I gave it four stars vs. five is two things. The first is a major nuisance. Getting the phones charger port open is VERY difficult. I have to use tweezers to get to it because of how the case goes around it. It has been very frustrating when I am away from home and am without tweezers and find myself trying to find something, and earring, a paperclip and many unsuccessful item just to plug in my phone. My only other thing zi would mention doesn't personally affect how I use my phone, but could be a problem. The case impairs the caller from understanding you almost completely. I would recommend planning to have a Bluetooth device if you need hands free features.
