I needed something to cover my desk that has a rough woodgrain surface. It makes writing look very sloppy! After doom scrolling through all the options on Amazon, I decided to give this one a try because someone mentioned writing was okay on it. Let me tell you, this pad is hard enough to write directly onto a piece of paper with a ballpoint pen. It's also the perfect size for my smallish desk. Don't worry about other reviews complaining about it not laying flat or having a corner that curls. Apparently those folks haven't heard of a hair dryer. I put mine on high (don't get it closer than 6" from the mat). I worked one end to the other, using my hand to get it mostly flat. Then, I evenly heated the whole thing for a minute and re-rolled it in the reverse direction it was packaged. I ran the hair dryer down the tube that created, waited another minute, and then enrolled it. Finally, while it was still warm from that, I laid my two wooden cutting boards on it after laying it on a perfectly flat surface. Thirty minutes later, it was completely cool and completely flat. Beautiful! That description makes it sound long and involved, but it's really not. You'll love this pad as much as me. Promise!

I bought my first one a few years ago, and it has withstood the test of time and use. It has done a fantastic job of protecting my desk while continuing to look as great as the day I received it. Unlike some other mats made of different material, this one doesn't seem to become more opaque or harden (it's as pliable as if it were new). I also don't worry about scratching the surface of my wooden desk with it like I did with a harder mat. I like that I can see the surface of my desk rather clearly (though it's slightly 'frosted' due to the texturing on the underside) and so blends in nicely into the background (more visually pleasing in my opinion). It's durable and easy to clean. I liked the first one so much, I just bought a second one for another desk and a third one for my wife. The free mouse pad is a nice touch. Recommended.

Was very concerned about not laying flat on desk. Happily I can report that it was warmed up in the sun and then I set it on my wood desk and it is laying flat. It is correct thickness and I just love it!!!

I looked through many before hoping i chose the best one for us. It came today and we're pretty happy with it. We love that it is clear, well mostly clear, it is slightly frosted because of the textured anti slip on the bottom. We can still see our beautiful desk, the pad doesn't really stay completely anti slip but its really not slipping all over the place and we will at times need to adjust it for our work space. I read through complaints like "I can't see the pictures i put underneath" my reply then don't get one that's frosted! "It's not clear it's frosted" well read the description it says its frosted! LOL Another says they couldn't get it to lay flat, The pictures I took above were taken about 2 1/2 hours after I rolled it out put a few items on top of it, that really weren't that heavy and I took them off to take the picture. As you can see its laying flat. I did not find that it was "rolled too tight' or "The mouse pad was rolled in with it and left an impression" My mouse pad was rolled in the middle of the rolled up pad not rolled with it. The pad wasn't rolled too tight and was also rolled in with a tissue paper. The mouse pad we won't use because we are using laptops but it will make a great coaster for our coffee/tea/water placed off to the side. I did not notice "a strong chemical odor" coming from either the pad or the mouse pad. I am reserving a 5 star rating because we haven't really had a chance to use it so I can't speak to the ease of cleaning, pencil dust not coming off, cups leaving rings or possibly melting if you place something hot on it. My only complaint thus far would be "anti slip" I think is misleading a bit because it does slide a little but most do at least in my experience. Our main goal was protecting our new desk and having a smooth surface to write on since our desk has a slight uneven wood texture to it and I think this will work out just like we want it too.

I built my desk and pc with lighting in mind. I didn’t think about a desk pad at all! The problem I ran into was that a traditional desk pad doesn’t bounce the light and typical desk mats are either fabric or at least a tiny bit sticky. I play several video games that require a quick gaming mouse so even a little grip is an absolute no go. This desk mat is perfect! It grips itself to my desk fairly well without preventing me from being able to adjust it without moving a bunch of things around, it doesn’t obstruct my mouse at all (once it’s finished flattening out) and it bounces the light perfectly! I adjusted my lights to the most obnoxious, rainbow rgb so anyone could assess every color. When I want a more soft, ambient light, it does that well. When I want crazy, I can really go there. Most importantly, I can still parse on raid nights without worrying about my white desktop getting damaged or my mouse bugging out.

I am EXTREMELY happy with this desk pad. It not only looks very nice, I’ve had no problems with it. The seller states in the description that the textured/frosted design of the desk pad provides an anti-slip surface. It, therefore, stands to reason that the textured side is to be placed face down. I placed my pad on a wooden surface and there was no slipping around. (Placing the smooth surface down resulted in slippage.) The pad comes rolled up with the textured side facing the center. When laid out with the textured side down, there is no way that the corners of the pad could roll up and therefore need to be held down with weights. (The reviewers who had this problem must have chosen to have the textured surface on top.) It’s true that my pad didn’t lay perfectly flat in the center, initially. But with items placed on it for a few hours, it was perfectly flat on its own. The smooth surface on top makes for easy cleaning.

THE PRODUCT IS EXCELLENT, MORE THAN i HOPED FOR. IT FITS MY DESKTOP PERFECTLY AND THE MOUSE PAD IS A GREAT BONUS!
