SUDOTACK USB Condenser Podcast Microphone for PC: Studio Microphone Kit with 192KHz/24bit Professional Sound Chipset Cardioid for Recording, Streaming, Gaming, Voice-Over, YouTube, Twitch (ST-800)

I purchased this gear to start a podcast on a very niche topic I know entirely too much about because my friends are sick of hearing me talk about it. The functionality is everything I expected. The sound quality is excellent for a USB mic and fulfilled all expectations. It lacks flashing RGB and has a nice, long, swing arm so I can keep it out of my field of vision and not constantly be reminded of it's existence. I did not start the podcast after all, but hey maybe some day.

Solid balance of quality and price

I recently purchased the Sudotack USB Streaming Podcast PC Microphone, and I must say, I'm thoroughly impressed with its performance. The sound quality is exceptional, with clear and detailed audio that's perfect for podcasting, YouTubing, or even video calls. The cardioid condenser mic picks up my voice with precision, and the 192KHz/24Bit resolution ensures that my recordings are crisp and noise-free. The build quality is also solid, with a sturdy boom arm and shock mount that keeps the mic stable and secure. To be fair, the pop filter could be a bit more effective, but it's not a major issue. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with this microphone, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and high-quality recording solution.

Firstly, I bought this mic in 2020 and I've been using it on and off since. You honestly cannot beat the quality at this price. It may not be a name brand mic, but damn does it sound like one! I use it specifically for streaming on twitch nowadays and I'm SO happy with the voice quality.

Ordered for my Granddaughter from her Christmas list. She was so excited and set it up and used the next days. Loves it.

I ordered this Mic Kit in Oct 2019, but I didn't start using it until March 24, 2020, because I have a good Condensor Mic and I just wanted to use it as a backup if something happened to my other Condensor Mic. Well, I decided to give it a shot and I was TOTALLY surprised by the QUALITY I got for my money. It's been EXCELLENT for the recordings I've made, so far... The Mic, Mic Cover, Cord, Scissor Boom Arm Mic Stand, Shock Mount, and Pop Filter are solid... the Plug-and-Play set up is GREAT TOO! What really impressed me is that you get an entire Set for a VERY Affordable Price! I could have bought 2 kits (with some change left over) for what I paid for my other Condensor Mic on Sale! I'm an Author/Publisher and Educator, and I also do AudioBooks, Narrations, and I have to say this Mic Set is Great for anyone looking to get started with Podcasts, Audiobooks, and other Voicework. I haven't tried recording my Trumpet, Drums, Percussion Instruments, or my Singing Voice yet so I don't know for a fact how it will hold up, with them, but I'm sure it will do just fine. I'll let you know if it still makes me smile after I've used it for more than a few recordings, but I'm still ordering another Mic Set, as soon as I finish this Review because YOU CAN'T BEAT the Price for the Quality you get! Totally Satisfied for now :-)

ORGINAL REVIEW: I paid for overnight delivery of this product given the glowing reviews. I installed it and Windows 10 confirmed it as good to go. I went into the Sound settings and made my adjustments. I then tried to test it with several apps and they all crashed. Then the computer crashed, rebooted and went into recovery mode! After recovery mode, I tried again and not only do my apps keep crashing, but now when I open the Sound settings they crash and won't let me edit settings for ANY microphone. I contacted customer service and they told me submit a warranty claim and then closed the chat on me without notice. I just submitted the claim and I so regret paying for overnight shipment, as the turnaround to even look at my issue is 24-48 hours. I could have just waited that long to get the item in the first place and save money. I am so frustrated with this. This is brand new! I have a MUCH cheaper microphone already that hasn't given me any grief. I say stay away from these people if I never change this review. UPDATED REVIEW: Customer service contacted me but by then I had already troubleshoot the issue myself. Let me save someone a headache. When you install this microphone, the instructions say to go make edits to the Sound options. I've attached a screenshot of said step. You can see that this microphone has a lot of options, which you will assume are all valid to be used because the claim the mic has its own chip. I chose the highest one because I wanted to test how powerful this mic is, and all it did was crash my apps, crash my laptop, and force me to do recovery mode to restart my machine. In other words, when you are changing these settings, start with the lowest setting already defaulted, and slowly try increasing one by one until you get a crash. Your computer wont support anything on or above that setting that crashes your system. I wish the options listed were only for valid functions I can use for my laptop. If you do end up crashing: 1. Unplug the mic from the USB port 2. Delete the driver from Device Manager from Sounds, and from Audio Inputs 3. Reboot your machine 4. Reinstall the mic 5. Either leave the setting as is, or try the last settings that DIDNT crash your computer. The reasons for docking two stars are the following: 1. The customer service rep who closed the chat window on me while I was reviewing the troubleshooting steps they wanted me to follow. They didn't allow me to properly end the chat and ask further questions. 2. The fact that I had troubleshoot the issue myself, as what customer service said was not the issue at all. 3. The fact that I'm not getting the full experience of the mic that I would expect from a Plug-and-Play device. Is the sound good? Absolutely. Would I buy from this brand again? Probably not.

This Product, has taken my setup to the next level. For only $50 This has got to be the best microphone for your budget. The only thing I would recommend would be to download OBS Studio. Look up on Youtube “How to make your mic sound better” And there will be a video by The Video Nerd. He will tell you everything you need to know about how to make your brand new mic sound a whole lot better. This Mic paired with OBS Studio (Which is FREE) Will make your mic sound a whole lot better. This Product has been the best for my money. If i had to rate it I’d give it a 9/10. Best Mic out their for your budget, and also entry level streaming.
