MY NEW FAVORITE JOURNAL
I was looking for a sturdy notebook / journal that's smaller than 8.5x11" and this exceeded expectations. It has a "faux leather" cover that's attractive, and the pages are ruled with light lines--enough to keep my writing even, but my sketches stand out & aren't 'skewered' by the lines. (NOTE: These journals are offered "ruled" and "dot-line." I purchased the ruled version.) The paper is a great weight, heavy enough that inks won't bleed through. There's an elastic band to keep the journal closed, as well as a ribbon bookmark. In the back cover is an expandable tagboard mini-folder/envelope to tuck notes or business cards. It's a well-designed piece, and it lays flat open when I write...all for under $9! My wife saw the journal on day one, and asked for one, so I ordered a 2-pack. My only wish is that they were available in different colors...but really, if you're looking for a smaller, sturdy, user-friendly and inexpensive notebook, this is the one!

Superbly crafted at a great price!
I cannot say how pleased I am with this product. As one who journals regularly as part of my spiritual walk with God, this suits me perfectly. The heavyweight paper can handle my passionate strokes, the underlining, the highlighting with other colors, and the occasional use of a good fountain pen. There's no bleed through whatsoever. The pages lie flat, which makes it so easy to write. I love the college lined spacing because I can fit more on the page. Esthetically the cover is pleasing both to touch and feel. Simple, elegant, sound, sturdy.... all the above! My next wish is to see if your company makes any journals that have more pages - a bit thicker would really be great for me.Thanks for excellent, well- thought craftsmanship.

Great first journal
I used to write on a simple composition notebook, and switching to this journal felt great. I write with a Muji fountain pen with Pelikan 4001 turquoise ink and there is no bleed or feathering at all. The paper is nice and thick and really does lay flat as advertised, after the first page. There is a ribbon to keep your place, a pocket in the back so you get to put any movie ticket stubs, receipts, etc, and a elastic band that keeps the journal closed. The price is great too, only $6, compared to any others, this is the cheapest that I've found to have the features such as the lay flat, elastic band, pocket in the back, and nice thick paper. The only down side that I've found is that it doesn't have a pencil/pen loop, but that can be a simple DIY thing.

A nice look and Feel for a reasonable price.
A while back I bought an Amazon Basics notebook when it went on sale and it held up really well, now that the notebook was full and I needed to get a new one. I found this notebook to be cheaper and more visually appealing. It has a nice faux leather cover which gives it a really professional look and feel. The paper is smooth and thick so there is no bleed through on the next page. The first actual page isn't really usable unless you want to pull apart the card stock away from the paper. That didn't really bother me though. I've only had the notebook for a couple of days but it seems to be pretty durable and made well. For this, though I'm not trying to intentionally get it damaged.

Worth the $10 I paid!
I write a letter to my son every year on the first day of school to give him on his graduation, I’ve written them every year in a normal spiral notebook but wanted to transfer them over to something a little nicer and this fit the bill nicely! The only complaint I would have would be the first page after the title page wouldn’t open all the way so I had to start on the second page but not a huge deal. The paper is nice and thick and Hopfully this will stand the test of time to do what I need it to, I guess I’ll update in 10 years or so 😂

This is what I'm talking about!
I write down my dreams (a lot of people do) and doing it on computer just seems disrespectful or something, so I use little journals like this. I go through roughly one a month, so they add up. I used to just pick up whatever they happened to have at local discount store, but I wasn't happy with any of them. They all had problems, most notably tissue-thin pages that bleed ink through, and even if it doesn't bleed, you can still read the other side through them. Crappy bindings, plain cardboard covers, sometimes bizarre decorations on the pages that just take away from usable space, and the fact it was almost impossible to find the same ones on any two trips. So looking for something better, I found these on Amazon. The bottom line: as long as these are available, I'm never going back. One of the pictures shows the pile I've collected since I've switched. Yes, about six months ago. It's night and day. These might cost a little more than the dime-store knock-offs, but no one will ever convince me it's not worth it. To go over what I like:Pros:1. They look sharp. The covers are about the best-looking imitation leather I've ever seen.2. The covers are solid and rigid inside, like they're made of real book board and not flimsy poster board.3. The pages are a soft, non-glare cream color, easy on the eyes.4. The paper is substantial, not tissue. Not only has no ink ever bled through, you can barely even see what's on the other side. And they seem to be absorbent, because I don't think I've ever had ink smear.5. The lines are dashed gray, obvious enough that you can write in perfectly horizontal lines, yet unobtrusive enough that they don't distract from sketches.6. The corners are rounded so that they don't get all dog-eared.7. The assembly is solid, stitched like Britannica. Another picture shows I have no reservations about holding them by a single page; they're not coming out.8. They have a narrow (about 6mm) ribbon bookmark built right in, which comes in really handy when I want to mark and reference back to earlier dreams.9. There is an elastic band around the inside of the back cover, which I'm sure is intended to hold the volume closed, but it can also serve as a second bookmark if you need one.10. There is a pocket inside the back cover that is nice for sticking notes in before I get things written down properly.11. As they promise, the pages lie flat, so you can write clear up to the stitching if you need to. No centimeter or more of wasted space on each page because of cheap binding. The only place there is any complication at all is where the pages join with the covers. There is about 5mm of wasted space, but given the limitations of book binding, I don't know if there is any way around that.12. Trivial but something I like: there are 26 lines per page, meaning 25 spaces. That works out perfectly for my tables of content because I can make them 25 entries per page, which seems like a nice round number. There is a little Adrian Monk in me.I guess that about covers the pros. In short, I can't really think of a way to make them better short of gilded edges. Whoever designed these must be familiar with the practice of journaling. They offer a refund for any reason, but there is no reason I would want one.Cons:None, really. But I will mention one thing that might be relevant to some people. Two of the volumes have small gaps between the signatures where the stitching is a little loose. For me, this is cosmetic only, and in no way affects their usefulness or durability. And it was only those two that arrived in the same order. Might be a bit of a sloppy run. I tried to find such a gap in a later one where I hadn't written yet, but they seem perfect. I had to use one I had already written in to get a photo. Definitely not worth docking a star for. That would be like taking off a star on a new Mercedes because one of the hub caps is on crooked, but I realize there are people who would do that.
