Surviving Schizophrenia, 7th Edition: A Family Manual

My son was diagnosed a few months ago and this book has been so helpful! It was so easy to read and I have a better understanding of the disease and what my son is going through!

I listened to this book on Audible. Loved it so much I wanted my hard copy to use as a reference guide for my whole family. It is packed full with information and is more positive and supportive. Totally worthwhile.

The chapters are easy to pick and choose incase your in a hurry. I did Audio books also. There is a lot of info to take in but the author makes it easy to understand. He gives lots of facts and studies which helps when you need to be an advocate for a loved one. Cause the Mental Health care in the USA is only helpful when you know what to ask for. This book helps you to know about the illness and the healthcare system. Not specifically for your state, because they are all different, but what helps the disease best.

great condition, great book, would recommend for anyone with a schizophrenic loved one.

This book has been immensely helpful in understanding Schizophrenia through all aspects of the condition and any type of question you might have. I learned a lot and am able to break down a lot of stigma that I had previously towards this condition. The most recent edition is even better than the previous version, so buy new instead of a used older version if you can! Even if your loved one is undiagnosed but you think he/she may be schizophrenic, this is a book you should buy and read front to back.

I have loved this book so far. I have a family member recently diagnosed. Gives factual information and real statistics that help understand the potential outcomes in the future. Reads like a book not a dense medical text which I appreciate! A must have for anyone navigating this disease.

My son has been diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia. This book has so much information in it. I would recommend anyone to read this book. I have read a number of books on this subject and this one blows the others out of the water.

Excellent reference with great overview.

I've read several editions of this book over the years, alongside many other books on the subject (especially from the UK and Germany). To me, it continues to be one of the best books for anyone who has a close friend or relative living with schizophrenia. I find the chapter describing symptoms particularly outstanding, very sensitive and brilliantly presenting what it might be like for the person who's ill. Quite a few chapters focus on the US-system of healthcare etc., and are less relevant to me personally.

Thorough & insightful. This wonderfully written book should be mandatory reading for every individual who supports the needs of psychologically challenged clients & family members under their care.

I have a family member who is showing symptoms of schizophrenia and I want to learn more about it. This book met my expectations.
