Making webpage analyzing so easy
I have been using this book A LOT to get clear about Google Analytics, and to get a feeling around how I can analyze data from my website. Google Analytics Demystified is awesome, - and it is so great in order to explain how analytics works. Davis is writing clear and really understandable. Even though english is my second language, I have not had any difficulties understanding contents or anything in here although analytics can be hard to get. The book includes very good assignments and "True/False"-tests with answers in the back, that you really do learn a lot from. I would at any time give all of my best recommendations. After getting this book all of a sudden analyzing webpages seem so easy :-)

A deeper, more strategic understanding of Google Analytics
Google Analytics Demystified provides a clear, hands-on approach to learn more than just the interface of Google Analytics. The step-by-step instructions are clear and easy to follow. After completing the hands-on activities in each chapter, I have a much greater understanding of how to apply these lessons to be clear and strategic when using Google Analytics in my professional life.

Lots of Features Covered, but Not Much Business Knowledge Gained
I thought this book was OK, and I will leave it at OK. On the positive side it does come with a sample website that you can install so that you have some data to use when you are using Google Analytics. The problem is that you have to populate that data using your own web browser and clicking on things yourself. This not only takes days, it can be tedious. I must also say that the book covers a lot of features of Google Analytics. Unfortunately the book is really light on business applications of what you have learned. If you are trying to learn Google Analytics so that you can actually use it at work, I would recommend buying Web 2.0 by Avinash Kaushik over purchasing this book. I think this book would be more helpful if you are trying to pass a certification exam.

I love the application tests
I love the application tests. For a new Analyst, this is a great way to learn by doing. I've been around a long time but never learned how to use it in a systematic way so I've always wondered if I was missing important areas, points or ways to slice the data. This is reconfirming that my interpretations are sound, but has already shown me a couple of new ways to get at very specific data.
