Ordinary looking but worked great in the mountains
At first I was not impressed with these but started to like them. Although made in France, they have an unimpressive black plastic ordinary-shaped frame with simple side shades, and with brownish-yellow lens. Basically, not nice enough for city driving or a beach. Any decent brand sunglasses would work better than these. BUT, after taking them to four high mountains (14700 - 18700 ft range) I can tell that they worked great, and provided a solid eye protection even on a couple of really sunny days. The side shades were reliable and the frame worked well, there were no light leaks at all. My model adjusts the tint based on light intensity. This action was very natural and gradual, you won't even notice, but it works. They looked totally black at the altitude. I recommend these for mountaineering, even at high altitude.

I love these!!
I've bought a few glasses for cycling especially in cold weather and this so far is the best one. Yes it's meant for mountaineers, who cares ? I loved it when I first saw it, read up its features and purchased it immediately. It's very stylish, sits well on my face, I love the panoramic view and images are very clear and crisp. I hate when glass steaming occur, never happens with the Julbo Explorer 2 - I am happy

These sunglasses are 100% not worth $260-$270
I returned these extremely horrible sunglasses so I could receive my refund, and they never did. So now unfortunately I have to file a dispute against this Amazon seller with my bank as I’ve realized that will be the only way to get my money back. They were literally the worst sunglasses I ever had in my life. I couldn’t believe it.

Wish it was better
After 4 uses (beach), unable to recommend. The neck holder strap is way too thick! While the attachment to the arms is secure, the strap gets caught in almost everything and is way to bulky for practical use. Very poor design. Unsure why, but the lenses are too difficult to clean using high end lens only cloth and spray. Always a smudge someplace.

Jublo explore glasses
When I bought these the ad said they were the photochromatic lens, so the price was awesome. They are the regular lens so the price was regular market price. I do like them, would have preferred the other lens and probably would not have paid this for this lens. Julbo glasses are the best though. I've had Scott and Oakley but like Julbo best

lens distortion
Mine came with the "high mountain 2 - 4" lens AKA "camel" lens AKA "cameleon". PROS: 1. The moldable temples are the best thing ever, and why I chose this model. They're really well designed. 2. They look good 3. Really lightweight! 4. 'wings' attach easily and seem like they'll stay in well, other than smacking your face on the mountain. CONS: 1. The bridge is so wide that the rubber nose pads don't touch my nose at all until the very end / bottom of my nose. I do have a narrow nose but this is a poor design choice. 2. My lenses had distortion around the edges, particularly one lens -- and when putting them on, they shifted the vision from both sides inward. The frame seems to be bent backward a few degrees too many. They felt like I was wearing someone's prescription glasses. Really bad for such expensive, supposedly high quality lenses. 3. All the external hinges and attachment points make for a busy looking pair of sunglasses. They could have easily hid the visual cruft and still had it easy to use. It's like they just 'bolted' some of the parts on the frame. 4. It's a hassle figuring out their messy lens naming conventions. 5. Lots of logos 6. The "Reactiv" branding on the lens is actually deeply etched into the outside so it will easily fill up with dust, dirt, crud, which will then end up in your cleaning cloth I'm going to give Julbo one more try and hope this was a fluke.

Fabulous sunglasses which really cut down on glare. Polarising and photochromic. My eyes are very sensitive to bright light and these sunglasses, though designed really for glacier conditions, are superb as extra powerful sunglasses.
