The Pedal Commander: A Worthwhile Upgrade for the JK
The Pedal Commander has been on my list for my 2010 2-door JK for approximately four years. I was hesitant to purchase due to its price, but I finally purchased the unit, and the resulting difference in throttle response is significant. The previous lack of uphill acceleration was notably painful; this is now a non-issue. The Pedal Commander should have been one of my first purchases when I acquired the Jeep. Installation (This process is easily verified by numerous YouTube videos). Installation is a remarkably straightforward process, taking an estimated 15–30 minutes maximum. Before beginning, decide on the mounting location for the module. Options include using the included double-sided tape on the dash or placing it over the speaker holes to the left of the steering wheel, as is common in many video guides. Personalized Stealth Installation: I chose to pursue a stealth installation. This involves removing the panel underneath the steering wheel, which gives access to two 10mm bolts securing a metal plate. After removing the plate, the wiring can be easily run to the gas pedal plug. 1. Using the provided alcohol towelette, clean the front of the removed metal plate and allow it to dry. 2. The commander’s module is then secured to the plate with the adhesive tape. 3. Reinstalling the plate and the cover ensures the Pedal Commander is perfectly concealed—a definite advantage against theft. App Setup: Seamless Process Ensure you have the unit’s serial number, which is located on the packaging. Download the official Pedal Commander app for your smartphone, and after inputting the serial number, your device will be synced. All module settings can then be adjusted directly through your phone. I personally find the “Sport” mode offers the optimal balance of response and usability. The best feature is the ability to easily test various modes to select the perfect setting for your driving needs. This device is an essential upgrade. Enjoy the renewed responsiveness of your vehicle.

Helps with trailer towing
I purchased this device for use on my 2010 Jeep Wrangler because I tow a heavy cargo trailer full of carpentry tools over long freeway distances and the Jeep struggles to maintain speed at 60 MPH. The Jeep's power is enough to tow with, but it gets a real workout lugging a 3000 pound trailer for 3 hours. Before I added this device, my cruise control fluctuated as much as 7 MPH on the long, slow freeway hills. The Cruise Control shifted the Jeep into lower gears a lot to try and regain its speed. With this device set to the most aggressive "sport" sensitivity, my cruise control now fluctuates barely around 2 MPH while on the gentle freeway ups and downs, and the transmission seldom downshifts to regain speed. That makes the three hour drive a lot more comfortable for me. When I'm not towing, I set it to a medium aggressiveness setting which improves the chronic lag time in factory throttle responses, while still providing smooth acceleration from a stop. If I keep the setting on high aggressiveness without the trailer hitched up, the vehicle lurches when I leave a stop sign. So I just tune it down to a lesser setting and it starts and drives very smoothly. I'm very happy with this device. It was an easy installation, and gives me a lot of choices for how my Jeep will respond to the touch of my throttle. It's GREAT for towing on Cruise Control. I can't really say if it helped my gas mileage. Towing that large trailer with an older Wrangler JK is asking a lot of this small v6 engine. I get roughly 10-11 MPG while towing as opposed to about 16-17 without the trailer on the same trip. If the gas mileage is improved it's not by a significant amount during my use as a tow vehicle. An important thing to note is that there is still a lag in throttle response if the Automatic Transmission needs to downshift. This device curtails the throttle response lag, but doesn't affect Transmission lag. Perhaps those of you who drive Jeeps with manual transmissions will like this device even better than I do.

Giddy up!!!🤠
Daaaaaaaaaang! (2007 Jeep Wrangler/3.8) Sport 2: it holds the RPMs better when I up shift in my manual/6-speed trans. Example: before PC, I would shift up to 4th on the freeway at about 3300 RPM and by the time I got in gear, my RPMs were at 2000 or 2100, lagging to acceleration. Now, I’m doing the same thing and when I get into 4th gear, it’s about 2500/2600 RPM - allowing me to get to speed faster on the freeway. That’s just 1 example. From start off: I can get out of 1st gear sooner and I still have to acclimate to the sensitivity, but IT IS SO MUCH BETTER. MOST NOTICEABLE: I always had to downshift going up a hill in 6th gear when I got to about 2200 RPMs. NOT ANYMORE!!! I just press the gas and I can feel a slight acceleration and am able to maintain speed up the hill and I NO LONGER HAVE TO DOWNSHIFT (on a slight incline). Amazon delivered it late (by a day) and I’ve never been so excited to get something, due to the positive reviews, so they made me sad for a day. It didn’t let me down when I got it though. Now, I clearly understand now what the company and people are saying that it won’t add HP. It didn’t make my Jeep a performance sedan or SUV by any means. BUY IT, I should have when I first got my Jeep. Install: Make it easy on yourself and take the two bolts out that holds the metal plate behind the knee panel. You’ll be able to see better. I had to do it blind, because I’m not the smallest person, but I saw what I was about to do. I bet this saved me a lot of time. Install was under 10 min. I mounted it under my dash and strictly use the Bluetooth app. I roll with my top and doors off all summer - I’d kick someone *** if they stole this thing. 1 month UPDATE: still going strong. No issues after about 1000 miles. I go between City +2 and Sport -2 for in town driving. Bluetooth connects every time. 6mo update: Still working like a charm.

Works as advertised!
First off, when installing, just go ahead and disconnect the battery to avoid any issues that may come up. I have had zero issues with this device. I can definitely feel a difference in the way my Jeep(2010 JK, manual transmission) drives. The acceleration off the line and when cruising is noticeable and feels like what I think it should be. It's not sluggish anymore. I've only had it on for around 350 miles since install, city and highway driving. The bluetooth feature is nice because I can hide the touch pad below the steering wheel instead of mounting it somewhere on the dash. There's really nowhere to mount it on the dash of JK anyway. Probably took me 10 mins to install, but it took a little longer to sync the bluetooth with my phone. Which was my fault, not the device. Anyways, I think any jeep enthusiast will appreciate this product, if you know how it works and what it does for your throttle response.

Every car that it works for should have it.
Haven’t really seen much change in mileage. It isn’t any worse. I love the quicker response though. It works well. Easy to use. Easy plug and play system. A little awkward to get your head under the dash to see the gas peddle plug but doable. The 3m sticker does not do the job. I added a small screw as well (not supplied). Works great. Definite value. If they lowered the price a bit I’m sure they’d still get good margins but I am glad I have it. Would they still make a good margin back if they lowered the price a bit? It’s a tad pricey for how simplistic the device is. Glad I have it though. It makes a difference in the vehicles response time for sure. This is how all vehicles should come stock.

My bad!
I bought this for my jeep wrangler and it was amazing when I first started using it but I started having electrical issues after installing it and returned it for a full refund. But after taking my jeep to the shop my auxiliary battery was dying causing the issue not the PC. I’m leaving this review in case I left a bad review before. Thank you PC for having an easy return policy. Everything went smoothly there. I no longer have the jeep and just bought a PC for my 4Runner. I expect the performance will be great just like it was on my jeep for a short time. The response was incredible on the throttle and can’t wait to install on my new ride. I’ve heard some mixed reviews but the negatives where really nothing other than someone just trying to nit pick this product. I guess if I had to give a negative it would be the price point. Is it worth it? Well I guess that’s up to you to decide but I’m not reluctant to purchase again after the performance on my jeep. I’ll update this if it’s different on the 4Runner, but seriously doubt it.

Works way better than expected
This thing made a huge difference on my 2012 Jeep Wrangler 2 door. We'll worth the money made my Jeep even more fun to drive. I have a 4 inch lift with 33 inch tires and still haul ass for a v6 3.6. Huge noticeable difference!
