desertcart.com: The Sweetest Thing (Montana Riverbend series Book 2) eBook : Darcy, Lilian: Kindle Store Review: This is definitely a must read book! - This is one really fantastic book! One that will grab you right from the start, and then it will suck you in so deeply and continue to hold you hostage right to the very end. There are so many elements to this story, that I can't even begin to describe them all. Or even begin to explain all the deep emotions the story brings to the surface, for that matter. But what I loved most of all; is that this story brings out a very strong message of hope and forgiveness. And yes, there is a really sweet romance brewing, but this story is about so much more than just that. There are books you read, and when you're done you just walk away. But then there are books that touch you so deeply, they just stick with you forever. This is definitely one of those books that will stay with you for a long, long time.. This story made me cry, it made me laugh, but most of all it made me feel like there is still hope in the world for those who have gone array at one time in their lives, but were able to finally pull themselves back from their demons long enough to make amends to those they had wronged in the past. I don't know what else to say about this book, other than to say....read it, you won't be sorry you did. Review: good story - THE SWEETEST THING is a standalone read with a happy ending. I always like the Marietta, Montana stories. A young couple is preparing for their prom night. He a nervous nerd, anxious for his big night with the girl he is secretly crushing on. She is a nerd as well and is crushing on him but wonders why he hasn't asked her out before the prom date. The big night arrives, and all hell breaks loose for her. A drug addicted sister that has spent most of her life rebelling and tearing the family apart ruins the night for her. It is so dramatic that she leaves for the airport and her brother in California before he can show up to pick her up. He is crushed. She stood him up and he has no idea why. Twenty years later their stories continue. This was a very good book. If you have experienced someone like the sister in your family, you can feel for the parents as well as the other siblings. There are no easy answers, and everyone pays the price of the rebellious teen. Then there is Rene, the hero in the story. Your heart just breaks for him. Married for so many years to a selfish, self-centered, obnoxious witch just breaks your heart and there seems like there is no hope for him. But things do get better and then he almost loses it all. I do wish he had acted on his own at the end rather than being told what he needed to do but there is a happy ending, and it was a very good story. I recommend it. I was not paid for this review. I am not a writer, nor do I know one. I am not kin to this author. I am not a bot. I am a reader, and this is my opinion, nothing more, nothing less.

A Great Story of Life and Lessons
If you like writer's who can take real life situations, turn them into eloquent words which add up to a great story, that can come very close to being true to life. Then this the book for you. I fell in love with this book, it brought me to tears, made me feel exactly what each of the characters felt, and at times laughter came into play. Lillian Darcy has out done herself, in my opinion with this book. It is about love, family, friendship, lies, secrets, and even betrayal. It is a love story, but not like any other that I have read, it's a love between a man and a woman, a mother and her child, and a love between sisters, it tells you about what real life can be for some of us. It makes one realize that life itself doesn't always end with a happily ever after. That sometimes in certain situations we may think it's over, but truth is it's just not ready to begin yet. Sometimes love makes us wait until we get that second chance to make it right. Lillian Darcy truly wrote a remarkable story. And has now become one of my favorite authors. I strongly recommend this book to all. I hope to read more like this from her in the near future. I found myself sad when I reached the last page. Thanks Lillian it was a wonderful book.

A good read
I thought I was going to love The Sweetest Thing from the first few pages so while on vacation I put it aside. Once I got home I started reading it and...it was good, but the writing style kept me from being really engaged with the characters. It kept me from really feeling for them or connecting with them and everything that is happening. It was more like here is a look through the window at some people and what is happening. It was not my favorite, but not completely terrible either. Tully left Marietta right before prom eighteen years ago. She stood up her date, Ren, and hasn't looked back. She got some shocking news, learned something that upset her and she just had to get out. She couldn't pretend to be fine or ruin Ren's night like that. They didn't really know each other well, but they both were looking forward to prom night to connect and see what could happen. Ren is still in Marietta and married to a lady that he doesn't even really like. On Valentine's day things start to change. First he sees Tully at the chocolate shop, then his mom speaks up about his wife and he really starts think about getting a divorce. He is not happy, his wife is not happy, maybe they should go their separate ways. Tully is also having a hard time. Her mom is dying and she has had to come back and deal with her anger towards Sugar and everything that happened so long ago. Things are going surprisingly well, and when she starts connecting with Ren things should be great. Only they are not really. The timing is not right. They are both in different places, but can they overcome that? Can they make the timing right for them? It was really an up and down romance with lots of sad parts, but again the writing didn't make me as connected as I should have been. A good read, but not great. Made me laugh, made me cry~loved it!
The story hit close to home. I loved the realistic and relatable characters. Hated that the story wasn't longer...I wanted more. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series!

This story is about love; about the inconditional love of a mother and the passional love between a man and a woman. And it's also about forgiveness. The storyline really surprised me and couldn't put the book down. Totally worth to read!!!

I really really enjoyed this book. The story so tragic and honest was such a refreshing read. Love Tully and Sugar and the respect the author has for those characters. I started this book at 11pm and finished at 4am. In the middle of one of the most hectic weeks of my life so far. But it's worth the missing sleep and the wet patches on my sleeves and pillow from tears. This story is sort of a wake up and stop to smell the roses and notice people & life, as precious as it is

Secrets scandal singer was so frightened of her family secret. But she needed to find her long lost son, she asked a local lawyer to help to look for him. But she needed to hide it from family members would her daughter understand why she gave him away. Suger had a poorer life than others drugs addicted habits. Giving her son away was to protect him. But tragic circumstances of her illness she had a great need to find him. This is a powerful storyline, that could have gone either way but once 're united with Charles she could relax and await her death in peace of knowing he was okay
