Gag me--another pack n' play? Yeah, but this one is awesome.
After our son discovered yet another non-child-friendly item on the floor of our home and hoarded it in his mouth for hours (unbeknownst to us), my wife and I decided we wanted another prison--I mean "play yard"--for our son to roam around in because apparently we're terrible at the whole concept of baby-proofing. So I found this item on Amazon and, through my sleeplessness, thought the dimensions were 9' x 9'--sounded like a steal for $90. We ordered this one and I was a bit dismayed when the box showed up and it turned out to be another pack n' play. Like probably most other parents, we already have the obligatory pack n' play. It's small and cozy and our son likes it fine. I told my wife and she was more than a bit dismayed: another pack n' play she did not want. (She also wondered how I thought the dimensions were 9' by 9', but that's another story.) Well, we could have returned it with the free returns, but after we got it set up and plopped our son it in, we were hooked and so was he. Here's why it's ten times better than your average pack n' play: 1. The colors are so vibrant--reds, blue, green, yellow--as opposed to the muted colors you often see on a pack n' play. 2. Each wall of the pack n' play has a different feature: for instance, one wall has a ladybug that squeaks; another has a butterfly that moves and rustles; another has a bee that also moves and rustles; and another has a sun with a mirror on it. Although the mirror is not the fanciest mirror I've ever seen, it keeps our budding narcissist fascinated for minutes at a time. 3. It's sturdier than any pack n' play I've seen, and the walls don't budge when he stands up in it, but it's also squishy enough to withstand falls. I've seen my son fall plenty of times inside of it, and he hasn't seemed bothered. Perhaps he caught his reflection on the way down. 4. Though not 9' x 9', it's bigger than any pack n' play I've ever seen. (Note: I've heard this can cause problems if you're using it for sleep, because it can be harder to find sheets that fit, though apparently you can find people who make special square sheets instead of the standard rectangular sheets.) 5. Our son actually likes going in there, unlike his other pack n' play (or--god forbid--his North States Superyard play yard--you'd think we'd sent him to Guantanamo Bay). Overall, it really just looks like a fun, happy, and bright place to be in, and it's well made and looks like it will last for a while, and perhaps most importantly, our son doesn't fuss when we put him in there, and, to state the obvious, putting him in there keeps him away from the unmentionable hazards on the floors of our home. So although I don't think you need TWO pack n' plays, I'm not too sad that I made the reading error and ordered this one by mistake, because this particular pack n' play is awesome. To sum it up, if you're going to buy one pack 'n play, buy this one, because it's the clear winner.

Mom of eight says great!!!!!!!
What a great playpen!!! With 8 children, we have had a few to compare it to. This one is wonderful. It sets up just like the standard Pack N Plays, which I find very easy. We've had a standard rectangular Pack N Play for several babies. That is the one we take when travelling, and I wanted one I could just leave set up someplace in the house. This one, straight from the box, was put up in about 30 seconds by my 14 year old. It is so bright and colorful and FUN. My newborn isn't too interested in that part yet, but my 2 year old didn't want to come out, when I put her in to explore it. They will probably both be using it. The bottom padded part is very nice, thicker than the other Pack N Play, bright and colorful, and I think will sponge off if needed. The toys on the side are really cute. My choice of this particular one was made because of the rating of use from birth to 3 years old (some of the others were only rated to 1 or 2 years), as well as how fun and colorful it looked, and its bigger size. The rectangular Pack N Plays are fine for napping or sleeping, but once the baby gets bigger, they are a bit cramped for playing. This one will be just perfect, as baby grows, for what I want it for.....playing in a safe, fun, stimulating environment when I or a sibling can't be right there. The only negative, which wouldn't deter me at all, is the carrying bag is a bit "cheaper" looking/feeling than the other Pack N Play that we have. I don't plan on toting this one, so for me, that isn't an issue, but it might be to someone.

Better Than Its Picture!
Shopping for my Daughter's Baby was easy! Having knowledge of what first time Moms really need vs. what is just unnecessary noise/static/fiscal waste proved indispensable. This Graco Totbloc Pack N Play is a Mom's helper and it is perfectly coloured. The primary colours and close netting sides are a must for newborns up until ~ 15 months (give or take; depending on how tall your child gets). It provides a safe environment for your child while you are (within eye-sight) doing those things that need to be done. Of course, your child must never be left unsupervised, but this play yard functions as a temporary sanctuary. It is roomy and comes with everything that you need in a playpen: Colour, sturdy see through sides, playpen floor padding, and a carry bag to keep it clean and portable! While it is a very sturdy play yard, it is portable. While it is portable, it is somewhat heavy; this is because it is sturdy and reasonably substantial. This is not the sort of play yard that is light weight for extremely short/temporary use; and that is why I chose it for my Daughter's Baby. I found playpens indispensable as a first time Mom and as a second time around Mom as well! As your baby grows, this Graco TotBloc Play Yard will be able to house favorite toys, etc. to keep baby occupied while you do necessary things (always within eye-sight/supervision; NEVER LEAVING YOUR CHILD UNATTENDED!): Such as work @ home (or in your office [if you are fortunate enough to work in that sort of company]); doing household necessities; sitting outside relaxing with a good book while baby takes a nap outside with you; etc. I looked at quite a few playpens before picking this one. The price point was excellent. The colour was perfect because it will positively stimulate babies of various stages. It was the perfect size (not too small, not too rectangular). Although a bit heavy, this playpen is portable. It came with everything that is needed for a playpen (many do not come with a floor cover pad, etc.). It has a carrying case/bag for better storage and portability. The Graco TotBloc Pack 'N Play with Carry Bag offers almost everything needed in a playpen. The only thing is that the bars on the top of this play yard are covered but not padded. If there were padding on the bars, this playpen would be absolutely flawless; and deserving of 5 stars. Graco TotBloc Pack 'N Play is a great product, at a great price from Amazon.Com!

great playyard
I purchased this playard for my 6 month old grandaughter. My 3 children used playpens, now they call them playards. After much research, I settled on this Graco one. It is of a good size, and very colorful, with cute little toys attached to all 4 sides. I feel as well as my daughter that babies need to be in a safe place, and that is not crawling all over the house. They also need to be left alone to develop their sense of amusing themselves as well as being played with. Our grandaughter doesn't crawl, but she can sit and roll around for exercise and can get all of her toys herself in the playard. I only wish that it was a little bit larger, but this is still one of the largest ones I have found. The pad is thicker than most and washable. We like the portability of this and it is easily set up outside and we know that she is safe from all the pesticides, and whatever maybe on the grass. Playards of this size are not available in stores, so I took a chance and ordered it online from Amazon, it was delivered quickly and we are very happy with this purchase.

Bright and secure!
I have a standard Graco pack and play that does not have much room. I bought this pack in play several months ago because of the bright colors. I love how much room it has compared to the standard size pack and plays. Like the other pack and plays this is easy to fold up and store against the wall. I hav to do so every night since I live in a smaller house and have a cat that might like to jump in it while we are sleeping and make it his new nap spot. The colors are vibrant and have kept my now 13 month old interested and intrigued. She loves to play with the butterfly wings and hit the squeaky toy. It is a generous size without taking up too much room on the floor. I like that there is more space for kids and their toys. She has fallen asleep in it many times. Not recommended but I have sat in it with her and it is very sturdy, It is very level. I have had this for about 9 months now and it still looks like new. I think for the size it is highly recommended. I trust the Graco name too.

Perfect playpen for older babies- spacious and sturdy
We got this for my baby when she was about 7 months and getting mobile so we needed somewhere to put her if we needed to do something without holding her. It is the standard length of a traditional playpen, but the width is the same as well which gives babies much more space to crawl around in and play than the typical playard. It is very simple to put up and take down. My baby has only slept in it one night and it was fine for her. It is very sturdy and the bottom mat has tabs that snap into the base of the frame for extra stability. The colors are bright which is good for the baby but doesn't exactly fit into my home decor. The sides each have a toy- a mirror, two rattle butterflies and one squeek lady bug. The squeek is really hard to press so I often hold my hand on one side of the pen for stability and press on the other side but that is only an extra feature so I'm not really disappointed. This is the most affordable by far of the larger size playpens and I'm very happy with my choice.

Not worth the money due to the flaws
Let me start by saying that this is very colorful and attractive to baby. The base is also attractive with lots of colors for baby to 'discover'. There is a play thing on each side - crinkly butterfly, mirror, squeezy sound making ladybug, and rattly bee. It's large - about 38in square so you'll need some room to place it. The flipside is that baby has plenty of room to play. You can store baby's toys in there and still they space to play. It has mesh sides for airflow and so that parents can see in and babies can see out. It's relatively quick to fold away for travel due to a button on each top arm which 'folds' that side. A very neat idea. However, that's where the good stuff ends because there are two major flaws with this product. Why do manufactuers insist on producing fabric based items for a baby that cannot be WASHED ??? Why oh why do they not make the fabric removable - do they not know that kids make a MESS ??? Duh !!! How is one supposed to remove spit-up and drool (and possibly worse!)? It's perhaps the most important thing in any piece of baby equipment; be it a chair, car seat, pushchair, crib, or playpen. THE FABRIC SHOULD BE REMOVABLE FOR WASHING. The second issue is that the base pad is only about 3/4 in thick. That in itself is not so much of an issue as the fact that when it's placed inside the playpen, it 'dips' in the middle - by about 1/2in. The centre strut /leg that holds the pad sems to be lower than the other legs causing a dip in the middle (and yes it's on a flat surface). Although baby hasn't yet 'rolled' into the center, it's not very comforting knowing that the center is not flat. Perhaps the pad should have been thicker - better yet the center leg should have been the same size as the others. For what we paid, I don't think it's worth the money - especially considering that the pad can't be cleaned without using chmical cleaners (which we don't intend to use around baby).

it's PERFECT! Just the right size for my small apartment ...
My husband and I have a very busy, inquisitive and active 6 month old baby girl. She hasn't started to crawl but gets around by rolling and pushing herself backwards and rotating in circles. I was able to keep her on a quilt on the floor while I sat right there for some time, but now that she is rolling I needed something fast. I did my research and came across this play yard. All I can say is, in my opinion, it's PERFECT! Just the right size for my small apartment however big enough for her to roll around, explore and keep busy. The instant I put her inside she rolled onto her stomach and started grabbing the butterfly's wings, as they make crunchy sounds. She was in her safe little play yard having a ball. It's beautiful and colorful and it will keep her attention for quite some time. I will keep you updated to see if it continues to hold up. So far I am extremely happy and satisfied with this purchase! Oh and I put it up in less than 3 minutes. That time includes opening the box, taking it out and setting it up. Very easy and I imagine taking it to play dates and relatives houses will be easy. As far as the other comments posting the carry case is cheap, I don't foresee having any problems as the play pen itself could be carried in its folded position without the cover if something should happen to it. I bought this for the safety and function of the play yard, not the carry case. We'll use this for a few months and then graduate to something bigger then.
