His advice might seem like common sense; but, if common sense were common, there would not be so much frustration and heartache in so many lives. I was feeling kinda anxious in my relationship due to my anxious attachment style. This book made me realize that I have more work to do. I am happy this book helped me figure out how to go about it. He didn't try to spin the foundation information into longer content. It's almost like a long article. That said, his points are valid and predominantly common sense, once you hear them.I don't think you'd just guess the whole list in a brainstorm before you read it, though I'd find it an amusing exercise to hear the results, if someone did test their own insight and compare results.I read a review before I purchased that got all fired up and offended about it being sexist and following archaic patriarchal standards. Having read it, I disagree. You will find what you are looking for. He addresses some things acknowledging our biological tendencies, and states the man's perspective, reactions, and desires on some things women do that women would see pretty much the same way and likely desire the same things, were expectations and circumstances reversed. We've got to admit women are just as oblivious as men are, sometimes, with the impact that comes with the things we do--how our actions affect others.Anyway, I felt that for the price, the fact that it was a short book was no big deal, but I wouldn't balk at a deeper exploration of the subject. It's kind of like a "Hello!" wake-up call to double check for being oblivious to how we affect others. I thought it was worth it, and I'll skim it on occasion to pick up action points I need or have neglected.
