works great!
I've been using these machines since the early 90's. As everyone else here, I did not receive the machine pictured which is the one I've always used. The "tab" for making 100's is useless. I make king size, took the tab off and it works fine for kings without it. Other than that, this machine works great. You cannot roll damp tobacco in this machine. On very humid days I have trouble rolling because the tobacco gets damp. I always keep a clay pot shard in my tobacco can to help keep the humidity down in the can. You cannot roll powdered tobacco in this machine, either...just don't try (even on my old machine, powered tobacco will get jammed, so just throw the powered stuff away). Do not pack the tobacco into the machine. Just put some in (fluffy tobacco is best) and let the machine do the work. Pack your cigarette after if you want it tighter by tapping it on the machine or table. If you put too much tobacco in the machine and the handle is hard to move, stop, dig the tobacco out and try again. Still having problems? Too much tobacco may make your smoke fly off the machine half-full. If it keeps doing that, try pinching the ejector and the rubber pin. I use to buy American Spirit tobacco for years and years, but now it's become taxed to death. So I use Native Natural pipe tobacco. It's not as clean as American Spirit but it's very good and the switch was fairly painless when considering cost (I buy it on the local native reservation).

Premier Cigarette Machine
I wasn't expecting my order to arrive so quickly. It surprised me. Then, it was amazingly easy to use. I can roll a whole days worth of cigarettes in a few minutes. This machine is excellent. I had used the inexpensive hand held roller for 4 years when a friend's daughter gave it to me. I had no idea until then I could even roll my own cigarettes with filters. It takes a long time with those to roll a few so I rolled them as I would go. I got so tired of that machine,I started looking and the Premier had the best ratings everwhere I looked. So,I came to Amazon, and they carry them. I went from spending over $110 a month on cigarettes down to about $15 a month now rolling my own. I am glad I finally invested in this Premier cigarette rolling machine. Best few dollars I spent in a while. Thank you.

Best out there...
Mine was delivered with a loose fastener that should have been tight in the mechanism that lets you select different settings for different tube sizes. I was having problems with tubes being torn because they weren't being released or tubes being released too soon and the adjustment of the lever drifted and needed to be reset every time.Once I figured out the problem, the machine works like a dream. The selector "clicks" into one of the 3 settings and stays there. My last machine was the Top-O-Matic T2 and it would jam much more easily than this machine. It only lasted a couple months before the threaded stud for it's plastic knob stripped and fell off. This machine seems to be built better where it counts and it works more smoothly when tobacco cuts aren't the exact perfect size. If you don't pack the tobacco into the chamber or use only the finest shake, this machine just won't jam. You don't have to over-stuff the chamber to get a reasonably well-packed cigarette with this machine. It can tend to make cigs with a little tobacco sticking out the end and a small gap at the filter no matter how it's set. I use the slightly thicker Zen brand tubes and a few taps will pack them down perfectly to eliminate the filter gap without scrunching the tube. It seems to work better if you start with a few gentle taps and then a few harder ones. I LOVE that if something does go wrong, you can easily order parts online for this machine... not for the Top-O-Matics. All in all... it's been a great machine and making cigs goes more smoothly with this than with the Top T2. Almost no "rejects" or wasted tubes. Had to take a point off for it being delivered in poor working condition. That could be an even bigger problem for somebody less "handy", maybe I should have taken off another star. But, when it works, it works GREAT, definitely better than my T2.EDIT: It's been almost a year and a half now and it's still working great with no new parts needed. I tightened some screws twice when the lever became hard to pull and that's it. This one definitely seems like the way to go for reliability.

Heavy duty model
I first bought Premier's small, hand held "Quick Fill" model which worked well for a couple of months but Arthritis made it hard to hold with one hand and rack the slide with the other. Upgraded to their larger plastic "Excel" model that has a crank or charging handle on it which worked well for a few months but I learned too late how careful you need to be filling and packing the load of tobacco in the machine. It got stopped up and (against their instructions and warnings) I forced the handle, bent the "spoon", as they call it (the long half tube that forces the tobacco into the filtered paper cigarette tube), and after forcing a screwdriver through the filler end to clear the passage, enlarged the plastic output fitting that the paper filter tube fits precisely over. Then the paper tubes would no longer fit on the plastic fitting. I finally bought the big, metal bodied "Supermatic" model with a metal output fitting, and have been using it for months without a problem. The KEY, I think, is the METAL fitting, as opposed to plastic, that the paper filter tubes fit over. It will not expand or swell out of shape, the unit is heavy and sits firmly on the table and I have learned not to pack the fill too much or try to put too much tobacco into each fill. I'm now rolling good, very consistent cigarettes and spending about $45 a month on my, almost pack a day habit, instead of $150 or more on store bought cigs. Maybe the two cheaper machines I bought first had helped me learn how to fill and pack properly and not use too much force, I don't know, but this machine is great! I talked to a person who said their Supermatic lasted 14 years. (Photo 1 shows the white plastic filler fitting. Photo 2 shows the metal fitting.) My advice, buy the Supermatic.
