I was able to tighten it no problem and it stayed tight over the course of a 4-hour whale-watching excursion on a relatively small boat.One thing to think about, the sound of the focusing and shutter are transmitted through the adapter into the frame of the GoPro and are picked up by the microphone to the point that they are unnaturally loud.
