My moldings require a very accurate placement of the nail. Will the "smart point" be worth the extra money over other nailers?

Absolutely. I found the placement of the brads to be very accurate using the smart point. I use this nailer all of the time.

Is the trigger the only thing that activates the nail being fired? Seems less safe that way.

No, the nose of the nailer must be depressed to activate the nailer.

Power source in the description says “corded electric”. I thought the power came from the air compressor. Why am I having to plug it in as well?

Trust me, it is powered by an air compressor. In fact I used mine yesterday. This is a great product. Just remember to use compressor oil in the nailer before each use.

Does the kit come with a carrying case or not? Description contradicts.
