I needed something small, but bright and solid, and these are perfect. In fact, I just ordered another 2 pack, as a gift. The enclosed "AAA" batteries are a generic brand, and will probably not last long, but that, for this price point, is to be expected. These are ideal for carrying in the glove compartment or tucking in a pocket before an evening walk. Plenty bright, with a flashing light option. I'm no expert, but do have a few flashlights, and for the price, these can't be beaten!
