Plays great
Getting to play all my old games on a modern tv with great colors and sound. Very happy with this purchase.

value for money if you have NES games
I wanted a cheap replacement for my old NES that has a bad PPU, but I didn't want to spend the same as a second Switch for it, nor did I want that other device that starts with R that's just an emulator that downloads ROM info. This device pretty much does the trick for me. It works with all the old controllers and accessories I have (not the zapper on an LED TV, but you knew that), howbeit it comes with these neat little controllers with long, long cords that totally work for me. Now I'm told the sound is off, and yes I do notice this on a couple games, but honestly after a while I always played NES muted because NES games have very repetitive music that can make you crazy after a while. The graphics appear true to what I expect, I can use a Game Genie or an Advantage, and mine hasn't broken down yet. Now keep in mind that playing old Nintendo games means you may have to clean them first, and I suspect that some reviewers on here haven't cleaned their games. About half the NES games I picked up to play on this thing I had to clean, or they would just give a black screen or garbage graphics...that's not the player, that's the game. So look up a product called "1up Card" on here and you're welcome.

This is the best budget clone NES
This is the only budget clone NES I was able to find with a switch for 4:3 aspect ratio. That alone makes this a no-brainer for me, unless you like playing really stretched out NES games, or messing with your TV settings every time you want to play a game. Personally, I do not. The Classiq N comes with both HDMI and AV connections so you can even play on your old CRT. Even the high end AVS is missing this obvious feature. The controllers that come with the system feel like a solid replacement for the original NES controllers, complete with the razor sharp corners and the good ol' D-pad thumb-burn. I'm sure you can find more ergonomic alternatives, but the included controllers really take me back to the originals.I was going to take off 1 star for a couple reasons but I decided not to because I honestly feel like this is the best choice for a budget NES clone. The first issue I had with the system is it is kind of difficult to remove cartridges when you first get the console. After some use this problem went away. Maybe use Jaws or something to break in the system and save Contra the wear and tear. As other reviewers have stated, the sound isn't perfect, but it isn't bad, at least as far as I've heard. The Classiq N sounds different from the sound the original NES produced but it has not stopped me from enjoying the games at all. I do also have one cart that won't seem to work with the system. I bought a second copy that was stated as "tested and working" but just shows a grey screen in the Classiq N. It could be a compatibility issue or I just got unlucky with 2 copies of the same game. However every other game I own worked on the first try.I also want to mention the system comes with a USB power supply, power cable, HDMI cable, and an AV cable when Old School could have easily cheaped out here and not included any of this stuff.Anyway, I recommend going with this option if you are looking for an NES that will work on a modern television. I have only had mine for a couple weeks so I can't say if there are any long term issues with the system or the controllers but I'll try to update here if anything.

Fully-functioning NES on a modern TV for a low price
I got this since I wanted an NES, and after watching Rerez's video on it, I decided it looked cool and cheap enough. I am not disappointed. I plan to collect video games in the future, however at the moment, I only have one NES game, so this is based entirely on that, so this will be based on my copy of the Mario and Duck Hunt combo cart. First thing I noticed is Mario appears to be noticeably higher pitch than the original, but Duck Hunt seems fine. Because of that, I'm fairly certain that it's the fault of the cartridge so I'm not gonna deduct points for that, but if I figure what causes it I'll be sure to edit this. Aside from this, the two controllers it comes with- which cost TWENTY BUCKS- are really nice and less jagged than the original. Other than that, well...they're NES controllers, I don't know what you want me to say. As for video output, the composite looks eh but that's because composite generally is eh. But you bought this for the HDMI. An oh boy does it look CRISP. Not only are the colors brighter than composite, but the edges are so smooth looking and- jeez, it's just beautiful. Not AS crisp as the AVS for example, mind you, but considering the AVS is ~$180 and this is $40, it's worth the small compromise. And for those of you that like the darker and more rough look of older TVs, though I criticized composite for that, i that's your thing this thing makes it look almost indistinguishable. So even for classic looks, it gets an A+.All and all, this product is the kind of thing you'd expect to find for way more than $40. It does so much so very well, and for that I think this thing deserves 5 stars. If you're a fan of the NES like me but don't have one and don't wanna buy an expensive one, or even if you DO own one but want one that has HDMI, this product is DEFINITELY for you. I cannot emphasize this enough, highly recommended

NES
Works perfect

Works well enough, but cheaply made. Update: Stopped working within a week.
Unfortunately my Classiq N was broken when it arrived to me. The LED light in the N was rattling around in the console and chipping away at God knows what for God knows how long. But, I have played with it a bit, so it works. I'll give my pros and cons.Pros: Plays my games, no perceptible added input lag even on an LG tv (set to game mode) and bluetooth controllers. The stock controllers actually feel nice, if they had a wireless version I could go for that. They are just enough old style with a few ergonomics thrown in. Buttons feel fine enough, and the D-Pad is surprisingly nice and feels better than my 8bitdo controller's D-Pad.Cons: Minor. The colors are vaguely off (you wouldn't really know it unless you obsessively played the games years ago).Something sounds off about the audio but it isn't so bad that it is vomit inducing. In fact, it actually might sound like what you were used to if you played on a cheap CRT back in the day. Contra was surprisingly close for me.Feels cheap. Came broken. Could take it apart and maybe fix the LED but can't be bothered to.All in all, it could be a decent little system if you just want to reminisce about games that you used to play. Obviously you need to buy the games as this console plays cartridges. Mine doesn't have a death grip problem like many people have reported, but it is a bit finicky to remove the cart. For me it is a stopgap solution while I wait for an AVS, and then I will probably move it up to my office if I feel like being a hermit and playing NES games. I wouldn't recommend this system for an enthusiast, but that goes without saying.2 points off for the state of it when it arrived, otherwise I'd give it 4 or 5 stars for what it is.Update:It stopped working after about a week. The power switch just stopped clicking after less than a dozen presses. I threw the piece of garbage away and ordered a different one while I wait for my AVS. Games that worked before just stopped working, as well, before that.DO NOT BUY

Lag between controller and console
This works well for games that are not extremely time sensitive. There is a slight lag between the controller and the console. Fast paced games are difficult, when they were super easy as a kid. I thought it was because I hadn’t played in years, but I just played on a PC with a usb controller and had zero issues picking up where I left off. (Specifically the game I struggled with was Super Mario 3). Also- this console would not play Tetris. I’m unsure if this is a problem with the game because I’ve had it in a box forever, or if the issue is the console.

Arrived broken
Box was undamaged. Couldn’t even put the game in and could hear and then see a spring moving around in the console. The lid to the opening had lodged down into the console. It seemed like we had just recieved someone else’s return. No way that happened during shipping. Easy enough return with no hassle but wouldn’t order again.
