BIG Money & BIGGER Results
The smell from this paint is serious stuff, but holy cow when it dries it's like powder coating, but better since it can be repaired and recoated later Awesome stuff! It's very expensive but I can see why they got a patent on this stuff. Whatever it's made of is VERY different. If you have metal you want painted black, this is IT!

Fast easy one coat coverage, stir well, wear gloves, and do not shake.
This was the second purchase of this product due to the amazing results when applied with a bristle or foam brush. It produces a high gloss, self-leveling, hard-shell finish, that is very resistant to surface scratches like most gloss black coatings. It is also very to clean and covers an outstanding amount of area. My first use was for a modified Jeep Wrangler frame and suspension components. The second application was a heavy-duty, homemade garden cart on steroids.

High quality, with one drawback…
Does what it says it will, treats rust. Thick and easy to apply, but plan on using the whole can immediately after opening. If you don’t, when you go to use it again (even after being well sealed) half of the material in the can will have turned solid, like concrete.

Nice finish slow dry
Put it on a mower deck. Deck wasn’t a year old and had surface rust. Painting it on was easy. This can cover both sides of 42 inch deck. Nothing extra. Took a day to dry at 70 degrees. So far it’s been good.

Tough As Nails, No Rust but Difficult to Reuse
I love this pain. I've been using it on and off for a decade because it literally smothers rust so it can no longer oxidize. However, I also use this pain when I need a very durable surface, like the hitch hook-up on my truck. The reason they come in small cans is that there can be enormous waste. Let me explain - trying to open the can for the first time is rather challenging. You will no doubt destroy most of the lid's top rim trying to get it off (see picture). Helpful hints: don't shake the paint to mix it unless you want tiny bubbles in your paint job. The manufacturer recommends stirring to mix the pain. Try as hard as you can to keep paint out of the can's gutter. If you don't and put the lid back on, the paint will literally fuse the lid onto the paint can, and you will be unable to remove the lid again, thus wasting the rest of the can of paint. Now you know why it comes in small cans - this can be a one-use-and-discard situation. However, However, I might have figured out how to keep using all of the paint in the can. The key is to use a small brush (I use a Q-tip) to apply the paint to the metal you want protected, which will hopefully keep paint out of the gutter surrounding the can's opening. If you do this, you can push the mangled lid back onto the can loosely, but enough to keep most of the air out. Then place the can with its loosely placed lid into a small zip-lock bag and squeeze as much air out of the bag as possible while sealing the bag. Keep the paint can, now secured in the bag, as flat as possible to keep paint off the lid, which will make it impossible to pry the lid off. Later, you will most likely need a screwdriver to pry the lid off in spite of the above efforts, but doing it this way doesn't seem to dry the paint out, and for the first time in a decade, I've been able to use the same can of paint numerous times. I hope this helps.

Coating did not adhere properly in many different small spots.
I've used Blackshell for many years and have always worked well. Cleaned and prepped areas as required. This last can however bubbled in many small spots creating allot of additional work. Not happy.
