









Review: Perfect for able-bodied beginners - I bought Jane's Gentle Yoga DVD before I bought this one. This one is slightly more fast-paced, with a wider variety of sessions. Both DVDs are great. I am 51 years old and have RA, so the Gentle Yoga was a perfect introduction to yoga without demanding too much on my joints. Once I had established that it was not too taxing on my body, the Yoga for Beginners is a great follow-on, with easy, relaxing sessions, and more challenging sessions to build strength and flexibility. The scenery at Glacier National Park is a perfect, serene backdrop, Jane's instruction is easy to follow, and her quiet meditative "chats" at the end of sessions have been truly beneficial to me, especially during the quarantine and stress of the pandemic. Her explanation of what weโre accomplishing, and just her relaxed and pleasant manner, makes each practice enjoyable. Jane, thank you so much!

Excellent DVD and Teacher!

Excellent product
This set of DVDs by Jane Adams for beginners is perfection. Many years ago I enjoyed taking weekly yoga classes with Ren Fields. Ren is an amazing instructor and I felt very fortunate to have access to her. Then I moved away for work and work became my focus. I left my yoga practice on the self, just waiting for me to return. Now I'm one year away from retirement and I want to be in good health so my husband and I can hike up mountains, bike in national parks, you know just living. I thought yoga is low impact, I need to dust off my practice. I started buying yoga DVDs which was a waste of a lot of money until I found Ms. Jane. She is an amazing instructor, and the skill level is perfect for this 57 year old body of mine. The instruction that Jane provides if clear and easy to follow. There is no bouncing around of the camera, it stays trained on Jane as she is going through the poses. This is exactly the same instruction I received at the Fredericksburg Health Center years ago. Thank you Jane Adams for putting your product out for the public. I use these DVDs daily and I am already seeing a change in my flexibility and strength. Thank you for helping me prepare for retirement.

Another great yoga dvd from Jane Adams
Below is the review I posted for another of Jane's dvds "Gently Yoga" which mentions this dvd as well. As a "seasoned" 63-yr old, my body is feeling and showing its age, especially after sitting at a sedentary desk job 40 hours a week. I have practiced yoga off and on for over 30 years, both taking classes and following dvds at home, but wanted some instruction I can do on my time schedule to improve my flexibility, balance and strength. Enter Jane Adam's "Gentle Yoga". What a wonderful treat this dvd is! I have since purchased the "Yoga for Beginners" and "Balance & Strength" dvds, as well. Jane's instruction is wonderful and immediately I felt at ease, as though she was right there with me. If she were here, I am certain we would visit over coffee or tea after a practice. The poses gently stretch and help to limber up my body. Instead of starting an exercise dvd and staying stagnant on the first two or three routines leading to boredom and avoidance, I am working my way through these dvds to discover my favorite practices. The "Lying Practice" is a favorite as well as the "Core Strength & Flexibility". Unlike other exercise dvds, I look forward to coming home and doing one of Jane's practices. The best thing about yoga is that it can be done in all weather temperatures, so the summer heat is not keeping me away from exercising! Thanks, Jane, these dvds are just what I was looking for!

A bit fast paced for beginning student

Love her!
OK so I've tried yoga a few times, found it totally boring. I never really knew if I was doing the poses correctly, never really experienced any results to write home about. I have a back issue that's getting worse with age and I knew if I just could figure out how to stretch my body out it would definitely help. Gave this a try. This instructor rocks! Very easy steps tells me exactly how to do every pose, how to put my hands, feet how to breath everything, she does it in a slow comforting way. I am not bored! Even the 28 min routine went very quickly, I have found that after every routineI am stretched out and relaxed. I did the upper body strength and stretch routine I actually felt like I just had a massage, can't wait to do the other routines, my back is already feeling better.

Wonderful yogo routines and supplement to physical therapy
I have been using Jane Adams' yoga DVDs off and on since 2014. In December 2019 I fell off a ladder and broke my right tibia and fibula, which damaged my calf muscle. I had expected the recovery to go faster than it has because I fractured both femurs and pelvis in a car crash when I was 19 years old, and that recovery was easy-peasy. Unfortunately, the recovery process for someone in their 50s is quite a difference from someone in their teens. I started using Jane's DVDs again every day a few months ago, and wow, what an improvement! Not only have the pains in my leg, ankle, and knee virtually disappeared, but my neck and shoulders are returning to a more healthy posture, something my physical therapist did not think was possible. Just as importantly, I am happier and calmer. I highly recommend any of Jane's DVDs. (Yes, I have them all.) I am so glad I started using her DVDs again. I intend to keep using them, even after I am fully recovered.

Perfect!
I am so happy with this DVD. So thoughtfully put together. I have previously purchased the other two of Jane's yoga workouts for seniors, and I love them and use them daily. You can mix and match a couple of workouts to fit your energy level or amount of time you have to workout. This DVD is for beginners, but that's not to say you can't challenge yourself. I've been doing yoga for 25 years, I'm 67 and I get a great workout and lots of variety for this DVD. Allows me to continue my practise in a safe way. I can see myself using this DVD for many, many happy yoga years ahead. If Jane keeps making DVD's I'll keep buying them.

Great beginner video
It's very calming and therapeutic. I'm truly a beginner and I feel the challenge but am not overwhelmed. She is very clear about how you should pose for maximum effect, gives excellent instructions and offers alternatives to accomodate disability, inflexibility or pain.

Great beginner yoga
I like the pace of the instructor in the video. The poses and stretch moves were what I expected for a beginner video.

Gentle but Complete Practice!
I have been practicing various forms of yoga for more than 30 years including advanced poses and routines. However, now that Iโm in my 60โs I need a less demanding routine that is kinder to my aging body. Jane Adamโs Yoga for beginners offers just that. Although the pace is slower the discs include whole body movement with gentler routines. Glacier National Park provides a serene and breathtaking backdrop. Jane narrates in a soft and soothing voice. This is a must have 2 disc set.

I would give this 10 stars if I could!
I've been putting off exercising. I did Pilates for a while but stopped. This is just super enjoyable to do, yet it is working on my muscle strength, stretching and balance, plus she focuses on breathing to relax the nervous system, etc, etc. She is doing everything I am also learning in my recovery from PTSD due to domestic abuse. I love the relaxing music and the gorgeous scenery!! I am so happy with my purchase. :)
