Is the light on top and bottom? Or just one halo?

Just of the "top" if you are doing a halo, but since you are able to move them around it doesn't matter. I can tell you that I angled them wrong at one point the it was in my face and it blinded me. They are very bright bulbs.

can it be used with a remote?

If the remote controls the outlet or the power that the lamp receives, then yes it does. I have a light switch that acts as a remote in this way and it works well

How many lumens does this light emit?

Per the description, it emits 1489 lumens. This light is very bright but is also dimmable.

Does it flicker very rapidly (like most lights)?

Our light started flickering continually, strobing is a better term after 2 months. It has been so difficult to get a replacement with customer service , that we we gave up trying to get a replacement. We had to answer question after question, and despite having the model number no offer of replacement. They kept giving us emails that went nowhere.
