THE GOOD amazing trust me do not get another madaline this one is the one u need the blade is sharp and if your using the protector it is the most safest madaline i have used. this is for the level of profession chefs for sure as it is very sharp safe and just works THE BAD if you dont use the protector you will chop of your finger i did my tip already lol but it was my own fault as i wasnt using the protector. keep in mind you will not always be able to use it as some foods are too small and dont stick properly in the protector THE TIPS start of going slow after a week of cooking you will get faster with practice use this for lettuce for a salad i find that with dressing pour on the salad it was more evenly mixed which made my salad expressing better clean with hot water after each use right away this will keep your blade for years

This is a great product! I use it for everything from slicing tomatoes and cucumbers, making shoestring fries (with the larger spaced blades - you can't get thick cut fries with this mandoline) or zucchini noodles (with the smaller spaced blades) and even slicing chunks of chorizo and prosciutto for charcuterie boards. The guard is easy to use and adds a lot of security. I also purchased some cut-proof kitchen gloves to use for added security. Most times, a quick rinse under hot water will clean it effectively. Love how the parts stow away for storage. I still use it for quick slicing jobs even though I've recently purchased a food processor.
