So far so good! Great value if you buy a non custom shade. Holds up in semi strong winds so far.
These are really good so far. I purchased 3 and they overlap slightly to block sun on one side of my house. They filter the light well enough to not heat up the windows or walls nearly as much as without these. I would say an easy 40 degrees or so cooler on the window glass on my interior after installing these. As far as durability goes, so far they have been great. Although, this is going to be the first summer they will be in. It will be interesting to see how they hold up in the hot California sun all summer. I tend to not update these reviews, so honestly the summer heat and sun will be the ultimate test! But for the price I paid for these... about $25 each, you really cannot go wrong. The materials and design are built sturdy like other reviewers have stated, it's true! Nice metal rings with strong stitching and the fabrics they use for the main sail and the corners and edges are all made with strength and durability in mind. No issues with build quality so far. Make sure all of your mounting points allow you to pull the corners of the sail very tight. I am using a 750 lb test paracord to string these to 8 inch galvanized eyehole lag bolts into a clay hill side, and roof eve screws with anchors and brackets (from a kit for this on amazon), and you can pull the paracord super tight. I have one paracord run going over 20 feet and there is very little sag I have pulled it so tight, and it is holding just fine! These look pretty ratty when they are not pulled tight. But once tight, they look really nice like at a high end resort pool area or something. Very cool, literally!

Pretty Cool
I purchased the gray color. I use it for my dogs to give them extra shade while I'm at work. I have quite a few of these up. You can tell a big difference underneath for the coolness. I used to use a regular canopy with frame. Those don't hold up to the wind. I had to replace numerous of times because of that. Those also trap in the heat underneath. These canopy's have so far held up to some pretty strong winds plus they don't trap the heat in. It only comes with one rope. So, depending how or what you are attaching to, plan for some kind of hook. I attached mine to my house on one end with a rope and carabineer and the other two with snap hooks to a chainlink fence.

Good sail shade; rugged, good color & size.
Good sail shade. We were not sure how well these would work to help shade the south facing side of our home, it worked great, so we purchased 2 more. Had to use additional parachute/rope that I had & so we can drop it down easily, installed D-clips with (2) thick eye-hooks per stringer (6 total) so we can quickly unhook & drop them down in case of bad weather, high winds or to throw them in a laundry bag & wash them. We've had our1st shade up for 2 months now & they are rugged, haven't stretched/faded & they look great/we get lots of compliments on them. Plan on spending a couple hours & a trip or 2 to the hardware store to get them mounted exactly how you want them. Ours are mounted 15' up on the house side, then angle down about 10degrees towards the fence & slightly overlap. Still have some sun that peaks through, but during the hottest times, is typically 10-15 degrees cooler in the shaded areas.

The main feature of the deck I built - affordable, replaceable sail shades from amazon
These are the third or fourth replacements. Couple different suppliers - these windscreens4less are in line with the better ones - D rings not rusting, double looped. (prosource Nov 2015 was a single loop). Good for two or three seasons, maybe four depending where you are i guess, winter storage, and how many cats decide they are hammocks. very cute ... until they fall thru an old one, no rip stop material here. Spare one handy. shade that is. Original plan was three 16x16x16 triangle shades out to steel posts placed away from the house in a way to maximise the shade sail coverage while keeping the posts to three, outside of the deck. Two more sails have since been added once the angles were figured and another anchor point added to the house. Triangles bow inward under tension, so the overlapping shades give fuller coverage, even double shade is nice in a few places, and keep it more interesting, especially if you can figure alternating tie off heights. square is just square. Noteworthy Extra Hardware used: 3/16" Dacron rope. DavisRopeAndCable dot com Stainless Turnbuckles. Sailrite dot com shades replaced, hardware holding strong. all the shade brands seem to provide the same basic white rope for tie offs where direct D ring to metal connectors cannot be made to the anchors. for a quick temporary placement the rope is ok - it is soft and easy to work with ... but will stretch and the shades will flap, shortening their life. if you look closely at the large shade installations at resorts or parks, they use steel cable under high tension. they even have the cable run through all the sides of the shades for extra tension. high quality shades too most likely. thousand$. didn't want fuss with steel cable initially, and ended up never seeing the need. The cheapest closest easiest to work with alternative i could find is Dacron (high strength polyester made by DuPont). US made rope. about 15c per foot for 3/16". it is very low stretch black rope. holds knots well. UV and weathers well. stephen davis at davis rope and cable assembly supplies tower rigging companies, but worked with my little order and walked thru explaining the rope on the phone. order was delayed due to staffing and sickness, extra rope length was thrown in. just because. can't beat that. that was 2017. 2021 I'm about to use him again for zip line rope and car port elevator winching lines. whatever tightness you can get the shades to with the rope, the better ... i've used the cheap white rope as a come-along, several loops back and fro the D ring and anchor, even pulleys, just for fun. whatever, the final tension on the Dacron is best/easiest done with a turnbuckle between the rope and anchor. there are plenty turnbuckles for sale here on amazon ... but mostly galvanised that will rust/seize pretty quickly. found a few stainless ones for $70 or so. each. eek. hence the mention above. around $15 or so, for a strong closed end stainless turnbuckle, with locking nuts. over time a new shade will stretch some; the turnbuckle allows additional tension to pick up the slack - so long as you got enough tension initially with the rope, allowing use of the full turnbuckle length later to pick up slack rather than re tying the rope. hope this helps someone do a shade install a little more robustly - no floppy sails!

Great Sail for my outdoor project
The sail is about 6 inches larger before pulling it taught. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase it again. Great Sail especially for the cost. I learned so much about geometry and Sail installation from my recent outdoor project that I’d like to share it with you. I’m renting this place so I had to spend my money wisely but efficiently. I installed a total of 5 Sails (2 rectangles, 1 right triangle & 2 triangles) each a different size & from different vendors. Each UV rating was between 180 to 190 GSM and they’re all close, I suppose. The most noticeable difference between them all was the stitching around the D-Rings. MEASURING TIP Each Sail was 8” to 16” longer than the dimensions supplied, measuring from ring to ring as if it’s laid out, not the length of the fabric between rings. Give yourself at least 38” allowance at each connection in the direction it’s being pulled. 12” to allow for fabric variation & stretch, 10” for a 4” turnbuckle & 16” for your attachment rope/cable/chain or…. If you don’t allow enough space, you may wind up with wrinkles in your fabric that don’t look so hot. INSTALLATION TIP I suggest running a small rope or a heavy string between your type points first to make sure that the Sail you’re purchasing is the right fit with enough allowances at each connection. I measured for the rectangle next to my deck using the suppliers 2 ft allowance, but the fabric variation made it too big and I had to get creative to use it. It was a bit complicated to make work but, in the end, it looked cool as heck. Obtaining the correct tie points for the triangles was the biggest challenge. By running a rope or a guy wire first, you’ll be able to determine the size sail that will fit within your tie points without wrinkles.

A Little Shade In Texas is Better Than No Shade At All...
I bought this small triangular shade first to test it with the corner of my fence. I didn't use the included nylon rope as I decided to use 3/16ths inch nylon coated SS cable and hardware to connect to my fence posts. Though the shade is little I plan on either buying more of the triangular pieces to overlap them or possibly go with square/rectangular ones. This small sun shade does provide shade as you can see. Not a lot of course but for now I am more interested in its shear strength. My last one had a corner ripped off in a heavy wind incident so I am trying to run this one through its paces. So far it's been up for just over a month in the hot, damn hot, Texas sun and though no major wind storms have come through yet there have been some very windy days. As it is this little guy has maintained the status quo. I can't remember how long my previous one lasted but at least two years. So, we’ll see how this little guy does but so far the color hasn't changed, the fabric still feels the same - not brittle and it's been in the hot, damn hot, Texas sun everyday since I hung it up, with no noticeable issues. I recommend buying this if you are planning on buying more than one and overlapping them like their diagrams show or you just want to cover a small area like an apartment balcony. Otherwise you may want to go with more than one, larger dimensions or with the square/rectangular shades. In any case I think this is a good buy! I hope this helps!

Not expecting it to last long.
It meets all of the specifications in the description, but I would say it is 'fabric' in only the most technical sense. Feels like a plastic tarp when you handle it. It has a three year warranty but I would be surprised if it makes it half that, even with me taking it down for a the winter. Okay for what it is, but I won't be looking to buy it again.

Transformed the comfort of being outside from intolerable to enjoyable in the matter of a week.
I purchased a 16x16x16 and a 20x20x20 sail for my back yard and I absolutely love them .They've transformed the comfort of being outside from intolerable to enjoyable in the matter of a week. I live in Houston, Texas and the temperature in my backyard gets in the 100's before May has begun. I finally decided to bite the bullet and install 2 sails in my yard. I was able to find 10 - 12 foot long 4" wide Schedule 40 pipe with threaded couples on Craigslist for $250. I buried 4 of them 5 feet in the ground with 24" wide footings and then used the couple to test various heights of poles to see what combination I liked the best. I ended up going with one pole 11 feet high and 3 poles 8 feet high. Even with the size of the footing being so large I was still worried about the poles falling in the wind. When I finished the project we were fortunate enough to get a storm with high winds. I went outside and was pleased to see the poles weren't even swaying. The quality of the sails appears to be really good. I put a lot of torque on them to get them tight as a drum and there isn't any sign of over stress or tearing. I didn't use the included hardware however, instead opting for steel wire and heavy duty turnbuckles. For a $30 sail, I figure if it lasts me 2 seasons it was worth it. I spent $200 on a 10 foot umbrella that bit it in less than 6 months. Now that I'm done with the project I'm going to add a third sail on the West side of my yard to give a bit more coverage. I was really happy that the sails don't block out all of the sunlight as well as not tinting everything a certain color in the sun.

Strong, good quality
Used for shade on our Pickleball court. Strong material with heavy grommets; we used straps and encl hardware to hang it and it has held up well.
