Tong Yeng Roasted eel 3.5 Oz/100g (Pack of 3)

Delicious! I bought these on a whim and they are excellent! Sweet and savory! These would be great over rice or even on crackers. They are bony, but as they are canned, the bones are soft and edible and a good source of calcium. Will definitely purchase regularly!

I didn't like the style of it at all. Thought I was getting the type of eel you get when you order unagi at a sushi restaurant. This stuff had way too many bones in it, edible and soft but not what I wanted, and it was very sweet and didn't fit the flavor profile of what I was expecting at all. It might be good in something else but I didn't care for it much at all.

Firm with a sauce that reminds me of BBQ. Very similar taste/texture as pork - to me

This is sincerely not bad for canned seafood. No it isn't going to taste like the kind of eel you get at a sushi restaurant; but neither does Starkist and Bumblebee canned tuna taste like seared tuna steak, nor spam like a good hot dog, nor canned fruits and veggies like fresh produce. Canning affects consistency and taste, no exceptions; but this definitely tastes better than I anticipated (I kicked myself after I placed the order for my almost certainly unhealthy curiosity) and is pretty palatable smothered in eel sauce. I didn't have trouble dealing with the bones either. I count it as a score for anyone who doesn't have eel available in their market.

these kinds are very hard to open. I tried to kind opener manual and electric could not get the can open. Had to use a knife still had trouble opening the can.

I love this eel. Great sweet-tasting sauce. Add lots of salt for a delicious sweet and salty flavor. Serve on a bagel over cream cheese or Greek yogurt.
