When I popped open the lid to load a game disc, I noticed that the lid would not stay closed. I found that I had to fiddle with the latch, by hand, in order to help it stay closed. I was willing to overlook and accept that defect. Unfortunately, once I hit the power, I heard a loud hum. I also realized that the disc was not spinning. No matter what I tried it was not going to work. I unplugged it and started thinking about my options - one of them being returning the item.
