great game!
overall the game is pretty good having decent graphics, tons of gear to buy and customise, different combat and gameplay technique and lots more....but what the game lacks is the pure stealth factor of previous splintercell games... The storyline is decent and its centainly a fun game...its got co-op mission, online spies vs merc game modes other than the singleplayer mission.

HIGHLY SATISFYING
This game made a much needed return to the stealth aspect of the Splinter Cell games. Prepare to be in the shadows for a large part of the game which is something every fan of the stealth genre in any game should enjoy but especially the die hard Splinter Cell fans. I'm currently halfway through the main campaign but that's only because I spend so much time playing the online, "Spies vs. Mercs". I must say that Splinter Cell's online gameplay is the most satisfying multiplayer I have ever played. It is so much fun!. The spies and mercs balance each other out in a way that makes this online gameplay one genius of an idea. Many people complain about the graphics but I think the graphics are fine and I have no issues with them at all. In my opinion the game actually looks great. This game was very well made on behalf of Ubisoft Toronto and you can tell they really read the reviews on Conviction and cared about their fans so they went a step backwards and gave us everything we deserved and the game conviction should have been. Not to say Conviction was bad but Blacklist is just down right badass. This game is highly recommended by someone who has always enjoyed playing Splinter Cell games. This game packs a lot of bang for your buck as it has just the right amount of campaign, 14 co-op missions, and much more. The currency system in the game works well as you earn money from missions and online games and you can use the money to buy countless amount of upgrades to help you as Sam Fisher and even as a Spy or a Merc when you play some multiplayer. And for those longtime fans who hate how they changed the voice actor of Sam and replaced Michael Ironside, all I have to say to you is don't let that one aspect keep you from continuing to be a fan and enjoying this awesome game. So much more to say about Blacklist but to sum it all up go out and pick this game up because quite simply, Sam Fisher has never been better!

Well-rounded and fun third-person shooter game
First off, let me say that when it comes to shooter games, I generally prefer third person games that emphasize stealth and that have diversity with their weapons and gadgets and that have nice map layout that allow for various different tactics and strategies. With that being said, I personally loved this game and intend to play it again. However, I also believe that this is a fun game in general and that it is simple but well-structured. The story in this game is not too complex but it is still exciting to see it play out. Through the course of this story and the gameplay, you can choose between three different types of combat: Ghost, Panther, and Assault. Basically from left you right, your strategy can range from being quiet and avoiding enemies to getting loud and taking everyone down with deadly force. This helps incorporate the variety of play styles that people have so that more gamers could enjoy the game. In addition to that, depending on your play style you can set up your outfit for more stealth or for more armor. The stealth outfit help make it easier to sneak up on or past enemies and the armor reduces the damage you take from each shot. The other fun part about setting up your outfit is the variety of gadget and firearms you can use. Through my first time playing the game, I focused on using the gadgets more, and there are some really useful gadgets that you can use in this game. However, one thing I learned is that it also helps to buy some better firearms as well since the ones you start out with are not that great. There are two different environments in the game: the headquarters and the mission areas. The headquarters is where you upgrade everything, take on main and side missions, and even participate in smaller things such as calling your daughter after every missions and finding little glowing devices that unlock concept art created by the developers. When you get down to the main mission environments, they are set up such that you can take various different paths. The side routes to take are used for stealth and avoidance purposes, but you can always go through the main entrance, gun blazing, if that is your style. While I do think that this game could have been made to be a bit longer, and given you more money per mission so that more equipment and upgrades could be bought at one time, I still think that this was one of my top two or three favorite shooter games with a good story and very fun gadgets with well thought-out map layouts and designs to make the stealth aspect of this game more interesting.

A Nice Little Throwback!
I loaded Splinter Cell Blacklist, hoping that Ubisoft had kept their promises about "multiple game play styles" and "fully customizable loadouts". Thankfully, Ubi wasn't kidding. The content was definitely there. However there are many problems that occur because of Ubi's lack of dedication to a single play style. If you've been keeping up with the game's trailers, you would know that one of the game's main selling points was the ability to play with three different play styles: Panther, the silent, bloody type. Assault, the "gunz-a-blazin'" crowd. And lastly, Ghost, the stealthy operative. My main goal was to try and "ghost" my way through the game. That means no killing, and it most definitely means that no one can be aware of my presence. However there is a major problem with this. The game flat-out LIES to you. It doesn't matter what YOU want to do, but rather what's most important is the situation at hand. Multiple times in the campaign mode, you will come across moments of which the game DEMANDS you play in a certain play style. You can attempt to continue playing in your style of choice, but you'll most likely end up with bullets up the arse. I'm not sure if you noticed, but the last time I wrote "ghost", I put quotations around it. This is because the game's "ghost" standard isn't what actual "ghosting" is in the Splinter Cell community. To be a ghost, you must do exactly as the title tells you to do... Be a ghost. Leave no trace of your presence, touch no guards, refrain from shooting lights, etc. However, this is literally IMPOSSIBLE, thanks to the enemy A.I. Back in the old SC games, the A.I. guards did their own thing. They walked around, had conversations with each other and so on. When you were pressed up against a wall, they didn't STOP just so you could take them out. No... It wasn't that easy. As a matter of fact, they kept walking pass you. If you were cloaked by the darkness, you were golden. But if not, it's over. It's not the same in Blacklist. If you're crouched behind cover and a guard walked over, instead of walking by or investigating a noise of some sort, they would just stop.Actually, you are PUNISHED for not taking the guard out because they will inevitably see you when they're that close. So... Listen up: YOU ARE PUNISHED FOR NOT KILLING PEOPLE. Overall, it's a pretty good game (I guess), but don't try to completely ghost your way through on your first time. You will give the game more flak than deserved. Trust me.
