Never Be Left Guessing
I engage in wildlife photography and rely on binoculars to seek out creatures to capture digitally, and to study their behavior in their natural habitat. The first thing I noticed while breaking the seal and opening the box to my new Steiner BluHorizon 10x26 Binoculars is that they have a really nice weight to them—the weight of quality I will come to realize, and just right for their compact size. Although the supplied neoprene pouch has a belt loop, while in the field these field glasses will reside in my photo-vest upper chest pocket when not being viewed through. Then as I slipped them out of the pouch and held them I was quite impressed by how good they feel in my hands, and by how easy it is to get a steady grip on them due to their textured rubberized, rainproof armor. The teardrop-shaped rubber eyecups comfortably encircle the eyes and assist in quick eye positioning, and also aid in blocking peripheral light, wind and dust particles from distracting the eyes and disrupting viewing. Additionally, the eyecups can fold down and out of the way if viewing with eyeglasses. Their double-hinge design constructed on a durable metal bridge allows for compact storage, and offers enough friction to stay in place once properly adjusted for viewing through. The diamond-textured rubberized focus mechanism facilitates quick focus with or without gloves—and from about 10’ to infinity these field glasses focus fast! They do not come with front or rear lens caps, but I wouldn’t use them—or I’d quickly lose them. I like that the neck strap can be attached and detached rapidly by simple pinch-clips, and I do appreciate the supplied lens cloth and the Steiner Heritage Warranty! My binoculars arrived the day after a heavy snowstorm, and the temperature was gradually rising above freezing—it was overcast and foggy...I stepped outside to give my new field glasses a try and was quite pleased with the viewing brightness and definition they provided upon scanning a wall of distant trees in the mist, beyond snow-blanketed wetlands, about 500 to 700 yards to the east, for any creatures that might be present; no critters were about, but I was glad to see the wide field-of-view these binoculars provide! The next day I arose just after sunrise and scanned the same wall of trees to the east but first without binoculars, and forced to squinting—I could hardly see anything in the distance due to the extreme glare while facing the morning blazing sun. Then I lifted my new binoculars to my eyes and scanned the same trees again and was amazed at how these optics cut through the blinding glare enough for me to detect individual tree trunks and branches in the hazy distance—sans eye strain or squinting—and if fox-sized or hawk-sized creatures, or larger, were out there I would have spotted them! And I would have been able to observe their behavior without causing undue stress to my eyes. Then slowly shifting viewing direction, I followed a frozen channel running northward, just a few hundred feet before me, hosting numerous blazing pools of thawed snow, and again I was pleased at how these binoculars handled the nuisance glare—toning down irritating reflections and enabling a nearly unfettered view of the frozen waterway. I then inspected treetops north of me and was quite impressed by the clarity and color performance these binoculars provided under bright blue skies. In ending, I love how these compact field glasses feel and operate, and how the optics adapt to provide above-average vision in harsh lighting conditions and great vision in all other lighting conditions—so to #neverbeleftguessing what’s out there!

These are simply what one would expect from Steiner- excellence in minimizing glare etc...
These are simply what one would expect from Steiner- excellence in minimizing glare etc... These binoculars work extremely well in the early morning light when glare off the water is very great. Have been able to see objects clearly that could barely make out thought other lenses. The build is good, focus super fast, and the quality unsurpassed. Great value for the dollar. Highly recommend.

Nice, light weight binoculars
Optics are pretty decent but the focus is very sensitive so it takes very little to through it off. Once the focus is set it stays put. The eye cups are a little awkward for me as I have glasses. You have to peel them down, given the design it would be easier if they we round, if you only have two eyes rather than four you might prefer this style. This unit doesn’t come with lens caps to protect the objective lens or the eye piece but it does have a soft case that should provide some storage protection. There’s the usual straps to hang from your neck or you can attach it to the case. I have a 10x50 Steiner that has amazingly sharp images. This unit seems somewhat less so but that could be a function of the smaller objectives letting less light. As I wanted this for my boat or bird watching I’m ok with the trade as it’s much lighter as well as significantly more affordable

Beautiful, Sharp Image in a Small Binocular
I’m using these 10x26 compact Steiner binoculars for birdwatching. The clarity and color is amazing. The binoculars have a nice weight and fit comfortably in my somewhat large lady’s hands. The focus wheel is large and easy to adjust but I wish they had a larger depth of field. I have to adjust the focus more often than with my old Nikon 9x25 compact binoculars and I find that annoying. Birds move around quite a bit but when a bird cooperates and will hold still for a minute, it looks amazing because the Steiner’s optics are exceptional. Every aspect of these binoculars feels high quality.

Great binoculars for a good price
I used it for birds watching around the neighborhood. It works well and the optics are very clear no matter under low light conditions. You can see the bird hidden between the branches with the help of this binocular.

Disappointing for the price
I've purchased several brands looking for a great set of compact, lightweight binoculars. These are an excellent size and weight. Considering the reputation for Steiner's high-quality optics, I expected a lot more than they delivered for the price. These are lighter and more compact than my Optics Diamondback HD Binoculars and about the same optical quality. There is less distortion around the edges. The reason for three stars is that they just don't compare the either of my Leupold binoculars' optical quality. My BX-2 Alpine HD Binoculars are better quality (heavier and much bigger) and at 60% of the Seiner prices. Side-by-side, I found the glass to be better with my BX-1 Rogue Binoculars, 8x25mm which are $110. I really wanted to love these. They will be fine, just not the premium quality I expected from the brand and reviews. At twice the price, Leupold is a better choice unless the size and weight are the most important factors to you. Even then, I think the BX-1 Rogue Binoculars might be a better choice even though they are a bit bulkier.

Zero sunshine overshadowing even in a complete snow environment
I bought/returned a pair of Adasion 12x42 that were just beautifully clear. Loved it, until it snowed and I couldn't focus on anything in the direct sunlight without overshadow effects. Back they went and I bought these, and I can say there are zero sunshine effects in the direct snow. Light, clear and extremely effective quick focus. Works well even with minimal daylight. I can see the deer antlers across my fields and my neighbors, and I'd estimate they were 1500 ft away but could have been further. Extremely happy with these binoculars.

Pretty handy
I like the small size, but as expected, not a whole lot of light. But easy to pack for travel and to keep in my bike pack.

This binocular is somewhat different from the others. It has a warmth tinge because of its autobright feature. It takes sometimes to get use to it. Other than that it is well built and has good optics. I like its focusing knob as well ie. smooth and easy to operate.
