Works fine but suggest using domed caps instead.
I used the self locking washers to lock the adhesive insulation pins on my garage door. They did the job but it left about 2 inches of sharp pin sticking out. I can see where this might be dangerous if you bumped into any of the pins. Children beware. I suggest using the domed caps although you still have 2 inches of pin albeit capped. For my use it worked just fine as I clipped the pins short to about 3/4 inch.

Great for my intended purpose.
Used these with sheet metal screws to secure insulation to ductwork. I faced the bevel into the insulation to help grab it.
