**Q: Can i mount this in a vehicle?**
A: It's a free country you can mount it where ever you want

**Q: Would this work for vehicle applications**
A: I can’t say that it definitely would work. There would have to be enough room under the safe. Once the code is entered and the lock released, the door depends on gravity to permit the door to fall open. Also you will need to be able to anchor the mounting bracket to hard points in the vehicle. Significant off-road travel might put too much stress on the bracket due to the extra vibrations and shaking.

Altogether this is a very ample solution for gun owners who want to keep their firearm accessible but do diligence to keep it safely secured.It is not impenetrable. It will slow down the determined and stop the curious.The drop down design is effective and well implemented. It is a bit noisy upon opening. Be aware that once the correct code is entered it opens quick.Holds my Sig P220 and an extra extended magazine no problem.One issue: The two thumb screws that are supposed to secure the safe to the mounting bracket do not work. They are a different diameter and thread pitch from the nuts welded into the bracket. Total QA Fail on that one. I got around it by using close matching sheet metal screws and self tapping them in. Which was not easy working inside the case (lock pliers helped).It would also be nice to be able to plug in an external power supply and have option of leaving the keypad illuminated constantly.Other than that, no problems. It works very well for me and my application and I am very satisfied with the unit and price.
